Dishwasher won't start

I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash dishwasher. I have power running to it, but when i shut the door on it...it still won't start a cycle. I pulled it out and everything seems to be in order. Does it have a reset button on it? Any ideas on a solution?

Thanks, Phillip

I opened the door shortly after starting a load (did not hit Cancel button). I put in that last spoon, and restarted. I believe it started up but later I came back and it was clear the cycle did not go for more than a minute at most, and the panel is dark, pushing buttons does nothing. I did pull the fuse for 15 minutes and replaced it, tried again, still nothing.

Hi - I'm having a similar problem. I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash. When I close the door to push settings, there is a dash (symbol) on my little screen. None of the buttons work when i push them, they don't even light up when i push them. The only thing i can get to work is the lock (you press one of the buttons for 5 or 6 seconds and it will lock the dishwasher.

Drhook65,
Welcome,
I'm Huuum

How old is this dishwasher and the complete model number is?
You said, you have a Kenmore Ultra Wash dishwasher, and you have power running to it, but when you shut the door on it...it still won't start a cycle. Does it have a reset button on it? Any ideas on a solution?

Yes, you may try this to reset the system.
Go to the breaker and switch it off for 5 minutes and the on and try it. It usually resets the systems.
Let me know ho it goes. Huuum

My start/resume light keeps blinking

Count the blinks. If 7 blinks, this usually indicates a problem in the heater circuit. You have to be able to check your heater, heater thermostat and possibly your control board.

sometimes you can shut power off to dishwasher for 10 seconds and this may reset your control and allow your dishwasher to run until the fault reoccurs.

Kenmore ultra wash dishwasher

The only time I have run into something like this when trying to help a client, we found that there was a shut off switch up on the wall above the counter. It looks just like a light switch and sometimes someone accidently turned it off and the dishwasher no longer worked. I do not know if you might have a situation like that but maybe it might help and save you a service call.

I too had problems with the Kenmore Elite (aka Bosch). The issue was solved by replacing the Lock Sensor on the door. After replacing the sensor the dishwasher has been working. Hope this helps.

Normal wash light blinking, d/w wont start

Wish I could solve this, as I'm having the same problem too. Normal light blinks not matter which wash button is pressed. Cancel light will light, but still NOTHING happens. Same model as yours.

Kenmore Ultra Wash dishwasher

check and see if you are getting ac 110 volts to your water vave when trying to start the unit. if no power check your breakers and /or the incoming power to your dishwasher if they are ok and show 110 voltage coming to the unit then you probably have a control board or touchpad problem which would need a little more detailed check out.
If you do have ac 110 to your water valve then you may just have a bad water valve. Because the washer has to fill first. Hope that helps!!

Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher LIghts are blinking....

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.
