My windows crashes to blue screen

You have a fragmentation problem and that is easy to do. Start your system by making sure it goes on Safe Mode. Once it goes to Safe Mode with Networking then run the Scan Disk and Defragmenter if running Windows 98 and XP. Win 7 has it in the Administration tools in which you would have to go to the Computer management page and start the application from there. At the same time see if you can download drivers for your system so when you restart the system it will run normally and it won't freeze or crash to a blue screen.

Blue Screens can appear only if there's been a hardware change to the system or it's on another system that isn't configured for the motherboard it was originally using. So make sure it's the same system that you were using or would have to find the system that the hard drive was installed and shifted to another for various reasons. The system could have been on eBay or Amazon so make sure it wasn't sold recently.

If it is then you would have to download the drivers for the motherboard that you are using and install them.

Then see if you get a blue screen.

How can I tranfer files from an windows xp hard disc to windows 7 64 bit I know I can use windows easy transfer but my old computer isn't working that well so is there an easy way to do this thanks...

If I understood you right, just get an HDD case for your Windows XP hard disk so you can plug it through USB to your new computer then copy your files normally.
If the XP hard disk is a laptop hard disk (2.5" inches), get one of these, else, its a 3.5" inches hard disk, these cases are also widely available.

I hope this helps

I do not have a disk to install to get startedand i do not know how to manually start it on the computer.

If you do not have a disc for your computer, you can purchase one at any computer electronics retail store in your area. It is a must have to start the System Software loading process for the Windows Operating System to be installed on a computer.

You can use a USB stick to load Windows but you have to have drivers installed and a good copy of the Operating System you are installing. It would be easier to just go and get one and then insert it and follow the onscreen instructions with the load. This way you will have a legal copy, your own disc and no future problems of lacking a good disc in case of a crash. Just a suggestion! Thanks for using FixYa! John

Just installed a new Lexmark 2300 series ink cartridge, printer

Hello Jeanete. First off, lets make sure that you have the right cartridge model number for your Lexmark Z-2300. Your printer cartridge number should be (Number 31 for black and white). 2nd, make sure that the clear plastic tab has been removed from where the ink comes out of your cartridge to strike the paper. 3nd, make sure that you have it installed properly. This shouldn't be needed, but once you have did everything reboot PC to see if this helps...

Long booting up in takes 2-3 hrs. before my OS start

Two to three hours is a long time! It sounds like your hard drive is getting ready to crash.

If your computer is running, click Start and, in the search box, type

eventvwr

and press enter. (If you have XP, click Start -> Run and type eventvwr).

Under Windows Logs, click System. On the right side, click Source. All the events will sort by source. Scan the list for any "disk" errors. If you are getting disk errors, your hard drive is crashing. You should either take your computer to a competent professional to get the hard drive imaged, or purchase a new hard drive and do the imaging.

Cd r problem

Any cd rom device can read cd-r's.
Your disk could be scratched or your cd rom or cd/dvd device may need a firmware update. Basically updated software that tells the device that it can read the encoding on the disk that you are trying to view.
