Question about Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines

1 Answer

I have more of a question then a problem.

Every web site I have gone to about espresso makers say the same thing, One of the most important things to look for when buying an espresso maker is the size of the bar pump. They say it is best to buy an espresso maker with a size 15 bar pump or better other wise the machine will ware out quickly. I really like the price and amenities of the GE 169108 Espresso maker, but it does not give a bar pump size on the box or in the instructions I would like to know what size bar pump is in the GE 169108 Espresso maker?

I did contact the store and they didn't know so I called GE customer service and they didn't know! Mind you, when you call GE customer service they have specific specilty departments and they send you to a coffee and espresso specialist which told me they would have to contact there research and development team for the answer. They also said it would take five to ten business days for an answer, OUCH! it's a wonder GE is still in business if there own customer service can't answer a question about a product they put out not to mention the lenght of time it takes to get an answer, can you imagine what it would take to have a warranty problem fixed. No thanks, don't need that mess, I will take the espesso makers back and get a different one, one where the company knows about the product they put out.

the number to call is just a walmart # and not a GE #. I cant find any information on this Espresso maker and I just bought it. But I do have the GE coffee maker that matches this model and it works great. But I would love to know the pump size. If you have found out anymore info would you please post it. Thank you

Well maybe you can go back to the store you got it from and ask them what size is the bar pump.

The Jura just says Heating UP for a very long time and will not move off of it, how do we get it to make coffee instead of heating up for an hour?

Probably an internal Element has gone open circuit.
Mine did the same thing.
Then it wouldn't heat at all.
I pulled it apart (with photos)
Found the heater element. Found a replacement element after 6 weeks and replaced it in 2 hours.

Back to getting great coffee.. Ahhh

It sounds like the water pump is not doing its thing or the machine cannot get water, either blocked filter or water line.

2 things. Water tank has a magnet in it (little rectangle black plastic piece on the backside). Thats gone bad. need a new water tank.

2nd is you need a water tank gasket.

Gasket is easy to fix, flathead screwdriver.
