The Counter for the Waste Toner has to be reset. You go into service mode by selecting Additional Function, then depress the 2 & 8 at the same time then the Additional function key once again. You should see a screen that says copier, feeder, etc. Touch " Copier " and then you should see a new menu across the top of the screen. Far right is " Counter ". Select it and then go to " MISC ", you should see Web, Waste toner, etc. Select Waste toner and select the " C ( clear ) " key and the counter should reset to all zero's.. Select the reset key a couple of times to get out of service mode. You may want to see what's all in service mode to get an idea of what's there. When replaceing time change items most likely there will be a counter to reset in the same way. Good Luck.

If you did replace it you did not put it back correctly or the sensor is stuck.
most of canon's machine waste toner signals work off of a weight system, as it gets a certain point it shifts position ( it's sitting on a plate ) which triggers the sensor. others work off of a light sensor detecting if it's dark (toner present at that particular point. the tank Must be replaced not emptied at that point.

On the right side of the copier towards the back lower corner you will find the cover to the waste toner tank, a single screw holds it in place, remove the cover panel, behind it is a large plastic bottle pull it out empty it put it back in, pay attention on how it comes out so you will be able to replace it, may have to pull the lid holder out first.

To clear the error after changing the waste toner container on Canon C7065 Image Runner Advance, from the control panel, click on the setting/registeration button. Hi, I have kyocera km c850D. Please could you explain why machine keeps saying replace waste toner box although it is quite empty. please advise if tere are any other parts of the machine to clean or...

Are you using a new waste toner container or did you empty the one that was already in the machine?

The machine uses a sensor that looks at the container to determine if it is full of waste toner. If there is toner on the inside sides of the container were it looks for toner it will indicate that it needs to be replaced even if you have emptied the toner out.

It is a good practice to replace the waste toner container with a new one, that is the way the machine is meant to be used.

If you have correctly installed a new waste toner container and the message hasn't cleared you may have a faulty sensor.

I hope this information is helpful,
Shawn

Where is the waste toner container located at on the Canon 2230 Imagerunner

Facing the left side of the copier, lower left corner is a panel held in place with 1 screw (actually, this panel is about 2/3 of the way down)
Inside this cover is the waste toner container. It will slide out towards you. Carefully poor contents into a plastic bag. Then wipe the inside and outside of the opening of container. There are 2 "eyes" or sensor clearings that need to be free of toner dust for the machine to function properly. Once emptied and cleaned as described, reinsert the container into machine and reinstall the cover. Turn machine back on.

Replace waste toner tank Does it mean that the toner is already used

Open your user manual.

Or get one - go to google or samsung.

The life of the waste toner container unit is approximately 1,250 pages for full color 5% image printing or 5,000 pages for black printing. When the life span of the waste toner container has expired, Replace/Install Waste Toner Tank appears on the display of the control panel,
indicating the waste toner container needs to be replaced. Otherwise your printer stops printing.

To replace the waste toner container:

1 Turn the machine off, then wait a few minutes for the machine to cool.

2 Open the front cover.

3 Pull the waste toner container out of the machine using its handle.

--- above from manual, following is my paraphrasing due to lack of pictures ---
4. remove the container cap from the back side and cap the opening

5. take the new waste container out of its package

6. install the new waste toner container.

___________
You may wish to TRY EMPTYING the waste toner, but you will find toner is the messiest and possibly dangerous (inhallation, etc) stuff you've worked with. it is an extremely find powder and can cause an awful mess and is best disposed of by capping and replacing the container with a new one (shop around to find them).

DO NOT attempt to vacuum up toner - just my personal opinion - I suspect many vacuums may not have fine enough "bags" to capture this intentionally very fine dust. BUT Toner vacuums do exist and some "may" work.

Replace waste toner container message

I have a CLX-2160N and have just emptied my own waste toner container. (Disclaimer: not sure how toxic or environmentally friendly this is).
Emptied carefully and thoroughly (fine dust). Immersed in bowl of warm soapy water, and vigorous shaking to get nice and clean.
Shook all water out well, and dried off as much as possible. Reinstalled. Turned printer back on. Hey presto - seems happy.

If the copier is indicating to empty waste toner bottle do as previously described. Until you reset the copy counter for the waste toner you will still get the message. Go into service mode by depressing the additional function key, then 2 & 8 at the same time, then aditionall function key. Select copier, then at the top far left side select counter. I blieve the counter is under MISC as waste toner. Select waste toner, depress the " C " buton on the keypad and it should reset to all 0's.
