Paper goes in slanted and wont print

Take the paper out off the printer and make sure there is no debris inside of the area where the paper normal loads from. If there is something stuck, you would have to shake the printer a bit to maybe get it loose to get the debris to come out.

Keep in mind sometimes kids put things in there and it gets in the way of the paper path. Also make sure there is no paper stuck in the paper path at all as this can cause the paper to go in slanted.

Lexmark X8350 "communication not available"

I fixed this by completely uninstalling the Lexmark software, then unplugging the USB and restarting. I then installed the new Lexmark software that I downloaded from their site, make sure not to plug the USB back in until it told me to. It then detected the printer properly and started working.

Lexmark paper stuck

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Good luck....

Sounds like there is something like a part of a sticky address label, or a piece of other paper stuck inside.

Take a heavy piece of card stock and feed it through the paper path. Chances are, when you get the card stock all the way through, it will push out the offending object that is hung in the paper path.

Paper Jam

If it truly stops halfway then it must be obstructed by seomthing. If it only gets a short way past the pick up roller then it may be something else. A little trick for removing obstructions is to fold your paper in half or even a quarter so it is much thicker and stronger and try to feed that through. This can push through any obstructions (assuming they aren't too big). If it still gets stuck see if you can manually turn the main gear found to the side of the carriage and try to push the paper through that way (hence pushing through your obstruction). If your paper feeds through fine doing this then you may have another issue.

Good Luck.
Please rate my advice, good or bad.
