If it's an internal webcam,the one on the top of the LCD monitor,look for a key on the keyboard which has a webcam picture on it,usually between F1-F12,but not always If it's an external webcam,that connected to USB ports,open the device manager Right click on My Computer and select properties,then click on the Hardware tab and click Device Manager, expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers by clicking on it,and see if there are any USB device that has "?" sign on it. If there are one,right click on the device and select uninstall,uninstall it and then restart your computer,when the computer turned on,the driver will reinstall automatically Please let me know if it's works or not and thanks for using fixya
Try installing the WEBcam driver. You can download the WEBcam and device drivers from ASUS WEB site.Select your model motherboard/computer/laptop, and make sure you select driversthat matches your Windows operating system. try reinstalling/updating the software for the webcam on the manufacturers website,when in i presume its windows messenger your using from the main window click tools--set up audio and video devices and select your webcam from there.
click start control panel
view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there if you are have trouble
with your webcam click start control panel
administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down image
devices you could see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall
drivers or update driver also during a video call at the top of your
screen you will see an option to for a video call using yahoo messenger this
might vary if you are using another messenger service hope

no need to pay extra, just reinstall the drivers from the cd you got with the notebook, if not with the help of the model number (Advent 4211c PC Notebook) you can download the drivers from sites, also try rollback driver or updating the can driver, if any questions please let me know.
Desktops don't usually come with cameras built-int, although most laptops today come to webcams built-in. If you don't have a webcam at all you can buy an external one at your nearest electronics store.
