I recently purchased a new computer with the Windows Vista os, the previous computer had Windows XP. The Canon BJC 8200 printer worked perfectly with the XP computer, but is having some issues with the Vista version. Mostly, it prints one page..then stops...or it says "printer not redsponding". I've deleted the computer and reinstalled it a few times, each time it appears that the proper drivers are loading...still, I'm at a loss.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The Canon BJC-250 has drivers only up to Windows XP. It doesn't have drivers for Vista or Win 7. If your Operating system is Win XP or older, you can download the drivers here http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0000399.asp. If your OS is Vista or Win 7, you can still try using the Win XP and test if this will work with your system.
They only support up to windows xp
I found this information on a forum.....
Canon does not write modern Vista drivers for a printer that old. That leaves only one other source and that's the actual Windows Vista os. If it's not included then you cannot use this printer in Vista.
Purchase a PCMCIA parallel port card. That's a PC Card parallel port adapter. It provides a native parallel port to laptops that do not have one built in. Works perfectly in ALL cases, even with the scanner cartridge.
What OS are you trying to install it on, and how are you getting the files? The printer came out when Windows 95 was brand new, so using the original installation discs (floppies?) on any newer OS is not going to work. Canon has drivers available online for Windows NT, 95, 98 and Me here.
If you have a newer Windows 2000 or Windows XP use the drivers that are built in to the OS. From the Add Printer option, select Canon as the manufacturer, then look for Canon Bubble Jet BJC-4100.
If you have Windows Vista, this printer is not supported in that OS. Nor is this printer supported in any Mac OS.
Go to this link. Select Windows XP in the Select OS box. Download the driver and follow instructions to install the driver. Do not connect or turn on the printer until the installation program tells you to do so.
Utiliza el mismo para Windows XP, cuando lo instales presiona "Continue Anyway" (o su equivalente en Español). Esto debe funcionar, hasta la fecha Vista aún no tiene soporte para tu modelo de Canon.
)O( The question is: "I cannot find the controller for a Canon BJC-250 Printer for Windows Vista" CoolDragon's Answer: You won't find it. Use the same one for Windows XP, when you install it press "continue anyway" until today, Vista has no support for that model of Canon printer.
here is the link for the driver download for the i250 for xp (hope you didn't mean you threw the printer itself away)
Here is the link for the bjc 80 scanning driver for xp;
but unfortunately canon does not seem to have a driver for printing in xp for the bjc80, it doesn't seem to be compatible - contact canon and they might have plans to release an xp driver
this link has dos drivers for the bcj80;
Hope this helps - other option would be to go back to windows me/2000 or get an xp capable printer - if you get a new one make sure it can deal with windows vista as well in case you upgrade in the future :)
