Sorry if this is duplicate post but I don't think I did it right first time.
I have two Sony TV's in a cabinet one above the other. One is a new Sony 42V4100 LCD and the other is a conventional CRT model about 8 years old. The remote is on the same frequency for both, so when I turn on one, they both go on. The sensors are about 30 inches apart. Any ideas?

Re: Sony remote control conflict
As Sony has same remote frequency for its TVs so option is left to unplug that tv which you don't want to power up or put piece of paper tape on front of remote sensor in tv and make it blind for IR waves.
No way to set both tv on different remote frequencies.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I have rebooted several times during the reinstallation of the
I also tried different USB, but no luck!
Could it be something with the USB driver anyway? The system says
the drivers are ok though..
Does anybody know the life expectancy of the batteries to this remote?
I don't think it is the batteries though, because the red light on the
remote is bright.
Check this remote control for its infrared emission. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more
details. Check this link and select the
site named above. View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be
selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the left top left
corner of the display window. It will make search easy. Some times, the ads
attached with each posts both at the right and bottom, might help you to find
the availability of spare parts. There are more than 640 posts to different
brand TVs now. Will be updated daily. Check and repair to remote control are described in detail there. Pull up older posts.
That is I wonder about your problem post! No universal remotes have the codes for Blu-Rays so far. You haven't try for that. You can synchronise other devices like TVs, VCRs, DVDs and so n, but not with Blu-Rays. The remote control you posesses now is one amoung the greatest one universal remotes we can get from market. Not waste your time for this purpose. Try to get its original number remote control from Sony. Just contact the nearest Sony Authorised Service center. They can provide you the original number remote handset. If you don't know the number of the remote control, isn't matter, just give them the exact model number of your device. OK.
Codes for the Innovage Jumbo for Sony TVs are: 002, 006, 071, 128
Manual code entry instructions:
1. Switch on the TV 2. Point the remote at the TV and hold the "CODE SEARCH" button until the small red light illuminates and stays lit. 3. Press the "TV" button the remote 4. Use the number keys on the remote to enter the first code from the list above 0 0 2
The red light will flash each time you press a number key and will switch off after you enter the final number.
5. Press the ON/OFF button on the remote. If the TV switches off, switch it back on and test some of the other buttons to make sure they work and contol the correct functions.
If the device does not switch off or many of the buttons don't work (or control the wrong function), repeat the above process from step 2.
Please note: not all universal remotes will work with all TVs
If you have tried all of the above codes and still cannot get your remote to work with your TV, please post back for further assistance.
Turn your TV ON Manually and then choose TV with the left wheel / Sony with the Middle wheel within the i-got-control software and select START SEARCH. Keep the remote pointed at the TV and when the TV turns OFF, press STOP SEARCH and then select the DONE button in the upper right corner.
I think that your new remote control must be a universai type, if so there is no awsner to this problem sony remotes have a 3 position switch on them so that the remote can work up to 3 tv;s
sorry I cannot be of any more help regards windyhouse,
Remote sensor on the tv may not be working. Try using a camera by aiming the remote IR sensor of the remote control at the camera lens then press and hole any button and check if you see a flicker of light. If you do, the remote control is transmitting, if not, the remote control is not working. This will tell you if the remote sensor on the tv is not getting the signal from the remote control
