I did what you said and it is still dead. I don't see a reset button and only one little screw to try to get back off.......

I have the same problem and have no clue how to fix it. I'm going to pray my warranty is still good since I purchased the extended one...

I too tried to clean the back off and the charging cord. Unfortunately I don't see a way to get the back off so I think I'm SOL.

My samsung YP-T9J will not turn on I reset it and upgraded firmware to no avail. I know the screen works because I can see it charging. IT's been charging for 2 days straight still not fully charged. What...

Mine had sort of the same problem. Even if you already did it, press and hold MENU and the Record/a--b buttons simultaneously. If that doesn't work, I suggest you call Samsung Support. The number is on their website:
They will either help you or they might let you send it in for free to get it fixed...They did that for my sister's camera.

Samsung yp t9j Media Player (2 GB)

This mp3 player and many others do not play or do anything on screen besides charge WHILE it is connected to the computer. You can transfer songs to the player while it is connected to the PC. After it is disconnected, then you can play songs.

Vegggie Boy is mistaken. You should press and hold the red record button while pressing the menu button. The player will reset itself to normal operational mode.

You can reset the mp3 player by holding down the "menu" button and the "a/b" button together for a few seconds then push the power button and it should turn on. Mine was doing the same thing and this worked.

Samsung YP-T9j won't turn OFF - Automatic Test Mode

Have you tried connecting it to your computer and attempting a Firmware re-load? There should have been a disc supplied which holds the software that operates your player. Firmware crashes are quite common on various machines, ans a re-load often sorts it. How old is the player? Worth checking the manufacturer's website to see if they've updated the Firmware.

My Samsung YP-T9J MP3 will not play downloaded songs

if you have a error message license error, it means song is not properly authorized to be shared. is this "downloaded song", are they on mp3 format? if they are, try using windows media player, then synch it with the mp3 player. hope this helps!
