Question about HP JetDirect EX Plus Print Server

Samsung ML-2510 doesn't respond....

I finally have the correct cables and drivers, but no response. and I wanted to know if Samsung printers were even compatible with the print server. IU also have a Canon and and Hp printer hooked into this print server. I've tried changing the port and i always get an "Operation cannot be completed." message. I really wish I knew what I was doing wrong. Any new information would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same printer and I have yet to find a compatible server. I have done hours of research and purchased two print servers that said they "Might" be compatible. I have upgraded software, drivers and firmware, nothing. The issue seems to be with the printer, not the server. If anybody has found a print server that works with this printer I would be very glad to know, because I am about to trash my laser printer!!

I solved this problem with windows xp but have yet to solve it with windows 7. what worked for me is hooking up the hp print server to my network switch and to the 2510. Then I installed the 2510 driver using the samsung exe and choosing NO when it asked about installing the driver without the the printer attached. The NO choice continues and installs the driver. Then run the HP printer wizard choose drivers on this computer when you get to that spot. Then choose the 2510 driver and finish up. You may now have 2 2510 installations and may need to delete the default one under printers and set the other as default. This worked on 3 different xp machines for me

WPS54G Printer Server Setup

I bought a Linksys Wireless-G WPS54G printer server and trie to put it in my home network. Following the instruction from the manufacturer and spent many hours, I still couldn't make the printer server work. There was no problem to get the IP address from my DHCP server using the wired connection. But when I pulled off the network cable and tried the wireless connection, I got "connection failed" error at the last step to install the printer server. I checked my router's client monitor and found the printer server did get the dynamic IP address wirelessly. When I pinged that IP address, there was no response at all from the printer server. In another word, the printer server couldn't communicate with other devices in wireless mode in the network. I searched the Internet and found there were many users had same problem and couldn't resolve the issue even from the manufacturer technical support. As a last resort before I was going to send back the printer server, I switched the network router to one of a different brand. My previous router was manufactured by BUFALLO INC and the new one was made by D-Link. After I rerun the installation following the instruction, the "connection failed" error was gone. The printer server could work finally.

The tip here is: Try a different brand router when there is a connection failure problem for installing the WPS54G printer server, if possible.

Printer server, wireless, detached cable now won't print

It is because the WiFI connection is more than likely on another IP address ie: Cable:192.168.0.1 type thing. WiFi:10.1.1.1 Type thing... so ya have to configure ya access and point ya printer in the right direction, so reinstall ya printer & driver and when it asks where the network printer is, point it to the correct address of the router's port..

Go to Control Panel > Pritners and Faxes. You should be able to see your printer there. You can check and ask it to print a test page.
