Hey, I own the same board, well the brother model, M2N-SLI and on both boards its the same, X8 when two cards are used, 16 when only one card is used, I have 8600GT two of them, previously used in sli, but now with 3 monitors I don't use sli at all, I still think both cards are working at x8 even if sli isn't enabled.

WHAT POWER SUPPLY RATING DO I NEED TO RUN A A74 ML-K MOTHER BOARD WITH usb keyboard mouse printer SD Card reader

Hi, the download site for your mainboard is here:

http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/motherboards/detail_spec.aspx?ID=en-us0000491

I would say 400 watts.
It depends how big your cpu is. 400 watts is ok
with a dual core.
If you planning to add a bigger cpu or a graphic card
you must have at least 600 watts psu.

Bfg motherboard will not post

It may be no good after a power surge or some thing else. You may have to change the round battery on the mobo. They are very cheap and just snap in. Check that the memory stick(s) are fully clicked in and the right way around. A faulty stick of memory usually has it's own beep codes. Be sure that the power connections are into a wall socket for testing and not multi-boareds as these are often faulty.

SATA drive stops or hangs . . .

Hi fadetoal, it's not you or you're drives. It's the onboard SATA controller. When a board is SATA compatible & the bios does not see the SATA drive (List the SATA drive), the fault is the board. You're board goes one farther than normal. Bios see's the drive but can't run. All you're going to do is pull you're hair out trying to get the board stable. Hope its still in warranty.

Cant run dual channel.

You can update your chipst nVIDIA nForce4 SLi.
This is not a easy task. It requires you to download the proper drivers. nForce will do this for you by checking your current system. Click this link to nForce:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Do not update your system by doing an install. You will have to remove the current nForce devices manually through device manager. (DO NOT restart your PC untill you have replaced the nForce drivers with updated nForce software).
If you do, you'll find your going to have to do a complete reinstall of windows & you will loose your current data.
Updating your ssocket 939 will run better. Your dual channel should post after update. It was a waste searching EPoX for faq's. Couldn't even download their/your manual. Please read recommended files to help with the update, these are worth every minute. (I learned the hard way).

Good Luck & Kind Regards.
& please vote.
