There are small surface mounted capacitors on the dm Board and the fmt board that have gone bad. They need to be replaced. Most tv techs will charge about $400 to do this.
Ur tv have convergence problems before,that why tv getting colors lines somtimes alot,sometimes not.The 2 STK convergence ICS was defective.Now the 2 STK convergence ICS are now totally dead.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors for the 2 STK convergence ICS,and it supporting resistors.
Unplug for a few minutes then plug back in to try to reset it. Sometimes it could take as long as overnight before pluging back in to reset. Number of blinks is usually a trouble code.
Most likely the Main Chassis Assembly needs to be sent to Mitsubishi for refurbishing. It has been a real issue. You may want to call Mitsubishi a call at 1800-332-2119 to see if they could help with the repair cost. They also could help find a local Mitsubishi Service near you.

I believe the format, or FMT board is going bad. this is not a do it yourselfer type repair, unless you have extensive electronics background - I have one myself with the same problem. I am waiting to get a new FMT board for mine.
