Hello, this is error for fixing temperature fault due to faulty heater lamp or thermistors.
If the trouble is temporary you can reset it in service mode.
Procedure: Press the user mode key ( * ) and ID key on keypad ( # ), with help of arrows go trough the service mode to CLEAR and press OK, choose ERR and OK.
After clearing if the error is still on, you need to change the fixing unit. Because of legal and safety regulations, replace the whole fixing unit with new one from original manufacturer Canon. Eaven if it's only lamp or thermistor trouble, replace the complete fixing unit!

Hi there E000000-0000
E000 to E004 are all to do with the fixing unit.
It can be reset.
It has been known to be caused by noise on the mains supply so a filter might keep it away. To reset. Press the star button followed by 2 and 8 at the same time, then the star button again.
You should now be in service mode.
Select COPIER and this will give you some options along the top.
Select FUNCTION.In the list select CLEAR.
From the next list select ERROR and press ok.
Then switch off machine and back on at the power socket.
If it clears then all is ok. Be warned!! Do not try to change any settings in service mode or clear any other function!! It is very easy to turn the machine into a cabbage.
Sorry I cant help you more than this, hope it works for you
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

If this does not help, on most units you have to start looking at your Fixing Assy. or Thermistors. Make sure that you do not have a piece of paper wrapped around Upper Fixing Roller or and other foreign substance in that area. However, on this one, I would recomend replacing Fix Assy. as a whole if you can, FG6-8326-000 (for s/n starting with MQT/MQV/MRV/MRW) or FG6-8325-000 (for all other s/n). Don't see p/n for Thermistors. Also, heard of alot of other board and p/s issues with this model that can cause E001-E004 errors. See if you can clear it first. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.
