How do i free memory storage without doing a reset?

Please Please help me!!! ok, I have cleared temp. internet files, cleared all my emails, texts & all sent items, no storage memory card inserted, ended all active tasks, no extra misc. downloads....my phone says "memory critically low" and will not function correctly. I do not want to do a clear storage again for the 3rd time this week its very inconvienient. When i do the reset in *settings *Memory *Main tab under storage it shows 18.2MB FREE and when it gives me that error memory low message it goes down to 2.1MB FREE so why is this?

Ditto. The only solution I know of is to "clear storage" which has become a routine activity. I think there's something in the OS which prevents the release of memory.

This is the first time, but I seem to be having the same problem. I deleted everything I could think of... including some important event notes... and it didn't help. I just did a reset... is there is any better way to handle this?

I've had the same problem. Typically the Temp Internet Files are the culprit. Which hotrodvixen mentions, but not the others. Are you using the internet a lot or downloading files from the internet on a regular basis that may be an ongoing problem? What happens if when you get the low memory message you just clear the temp internet files, does that fix the problem (temporarily)?

For any others who need to know how to clear temp internet files:
Open Internet Explorer > Menu > Tools > Options > Memory > Delete Files

I'm holding original email address: tassanu_boxing@yahoo.com , but I can't access it for a week. I don't know why. I believe I put correct Yahoo ID and password. I have saved nearly 200 email...

IF you havent accessed your Yahoo id for long time, when you try to access it, you will get an Authorisation ( Verification code ). you have to enter it.

logon to www.mail.yahoo.com and enter your email id - without @yahoo.com and enter password, you will find a small window below the username and password to enter the code, enter the code and it should let you access your emails.

Before doing this, Try Clearing Cookies and Temporary internet files from Internet Explorer.

Open Internet Explorer - Click on Tools on Top bar ( menu ) click Internet Options and Click Delete Cookies/ Temp files or Delete all Button and click OK

Alert message pops us : low on free storage space, delete old or unsused items, however there is nothing to delete

delete all email texts un-necessary files and clear your search history on you internet, you may want to use a card for storage, on your email you can set it to store to card and can also do that for photos and files.

Brand New Samsung Omnia Out of Memory

I found this fix on another website. After numerous calls to verizon-they had no clue-and hours of trying to figure things out I found and tried this fix and it worked!

"I have a Samsung Omnia on VZW network. I was getting the "Memory Critically Low" error too. So, I opened File Explorer and did some searching for files that could be removed etc. I found an entire cache of files here: My Device: Program Files: VZAppZone:Temp:Temp

I deleted these files using a mass delete: Menu:Edit:Select All: Menu:Delete With no ill effects as of yet.

I spent the better part of an hour testing every application on the phone, opening contacts, etc. I haven't noticed anything wrong.

Doing this freed up almost 35mb of storage!!!!! "

I had the same results. This finally solved my mem problems-no more pop up critical me low box!! It freed up over 1/2 the avail memory.

Another tip is to clear out your browsers cache files

HTC 3125 Star Trek No memory

There are 2 different sets of memory - the built-in "Storage memory" & the microSD "Storage Card".
You can see how full they are:
1: Run "Task Manager".
2: Choose "Menu", choose "System Info".

I'm guessing that your Internet Explorer cache is large, filling up the "Storage memory".
To clear it:
1: Run Internet Explorer.
2: Choose "Menu", choose "Tools", choose "Options", choose "Memory"
3: Select "Temporary Files" & "Clear". This will run a minute or so.
