Samsung LCD picture adjustment... Store Demo...WTF...?
Hi I have a problem with my new 37'' samsung LE37A656 (series6 bought inthe Czech Republic). It's only connected to my PS3. Every time I adjustthe picture after a while (approx. 30mins) the screen goes black andresets itself to its factory settings. My mate has the same problemwith his older LCD as well (samsung as well). However I've foundsomething strange. When I press the ''INFO'' button on my remote smallbox with current setting pops up and its says: Picture: Store Demo. Ithink it might be it but it can't be changed and the manual doesn't saya single word about it. Does anyone else have the same problem? Thanks
Push the volume button on the television set (not the remote) up once.
Then press the menu button (TV, not remote) for about 12 seconds.
It should flash once and go to dynamic mode (center, bottom of the screen), which will indicate that it is now in the "non-store-demo" mode, allowing you to save your picture settings, and access the menus.
I have the TC-L32X1. I had to call Tech Support they had me do the following: Press the Down Volume button on the TV (not remote) AND the Menu button on the remote (not TV) at the same time. This resets the TV and shows a special screen. Press and hold the Power button on the TV to shut it off. Turn it back on and go through the setup.

CNETI just bought a Samsung LN46B650 and it is stuck in Store Demo mode. ... If you do get prompted to choose between HOME or STORE mode (and you might), ... on the tvfor 10-15 sec(i did almost 30)...but the store demo mode wont turn off.
My TV had the same problem and I have managede to get rid of it. The solution is very simple. This displays mean that your TV is in the " Store Demo" mode and any changes you make will last only for 30 minutes and when the TV is turned off the settings will change back to the normal. Whether you TV is in the "Store Demo" mode can be confirmed by pressing the "Info" button on the remote and you will see that "store demo" appears on the screen. To change this mode to the "home mode" you will have to press the "Volume button" on the TV and when the volume sign appears on the screen then you will have to press the "Menu" button on the TV (not on the remote)and hold it down for about 7to 10 seconds. This changes your TV mode from "store demo" mode to the home mode. Confrim whether the store demo mode has been put off by pressing the "Info" button on the remote to see whether the store demo sign appears on the screen. The store demo is set by sales persons in the shops so that any demonstratation/changes that they make while showing to customers will be temporary as the settings revert back to the original.
Hi I deal with Samsung everyday. Can you not go back to the store where you bought it. their customer service team should be able to push a bit more clarification from Samsung. Also a lot of stores will have a policy where if the unit is away for repair for more than x amount of days/weeks the customer is entitled to a new prduct. Worth a shot!
The set was a store demo, and the options were set so they could not be adjusted. On instruction from Samsung I pressed MENU and VOLUME buttons on the side of the set and hold for 7 seconds The display reverts to Standard from Dynamic. The Remote Options button showed Store Demo, but now shows Standard. All memory functions seem to function now. Thanks for your help. Watty2c
