Question about Rangemaster Toledo 90 (Dual Fuel) Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Rangemaster toledo DF 90 what is the minimum door width through which these cookers can be fitted?

I wish to purchase a Rangemaster Toledo DF 90 in stainless steel. The descriptions claim it is 600mm deep. However, my door is 630mm wide exactly and I wish to know whether the cooker will get through this space, or whether the handles will make it too deep to get through the kitchen door.

I also wish to know whether any doors, handles or attachments can be removed or retracted to fit it through the doorway, or whether there are any other possible solutions to this conundrum. Otherwise I will have to search for another cooker.

Yes, the handle, doors and knobs can all be removed, in fact (If I remember correctly) the unit is delivered with at least the handle/rail at the top not fitted. I would still suggest that you visit the supplier with a tape measure and suggest that if they want sell you a unit, they reassure you by showing you a packaged unit, or demonstrate the removal of the handle.

Can i fit a glass lid to my Rangemaster Toledo 90? It has never had one fitted and wondering if one can be fitted. Thanks

No not if it has never had one fitted by the manufacturer as it wont have a safety device fitted to close the gas supply in the advent that the lid is closed while a burner is still a light which would shatter the safety glass and cause injury to the user. Some glass lidded cookers where imported to England when i was an apprentice gas engineer and no safety device fitted and the lids exploded and where soon made illegal.

Warmer lights up but not getting hot - Rangemaster Toledo XT

Hi Sally

I havd exactly the same problem. I contacted Rangemaster/Aga support line (0845 603 5312 if in warranty, 0870 789 5107 if not) and they told me the heating element was shot.

My cooker is 2 1/2 years old, so out of warranty, but they were good enough to send me a new cooker top (top left hand side only of course) free of charge!!!, I just have to get it fitted.

You have to replace the whole left hand side of the cooker top too - the burner that the wok goes on!

Good luck

I would follow these requirements if I were you:

The cooker must be connected to the correct electrical supply as stated on the voltage label on the cooker (This is obvious so far!). It should be connected through a suitable cooker control unit incorporating a double pole switch having a contact separation of at least 3mm in all poles (This means one of those big red switches with "COOKER" written on them). The cooker must NOT be connected to an ordinary domestic power point. The cable size used should be between 6mm squared and 10mm squared twin and earth. Where the installation is protected by a 30 milliamp sensitivity residual current device (RCD Breaker), the combined use of your cooker and other domestic appliances may occasionally cause nuisance tripping. In these instances, the cooker circuit may need to be protected by fitting a 100 milliamp device. This work should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
