WHAT MODEL IS SERIAL NUMBER 151-UK-A32802

Hi there Michelle, it's Jack at Dyson.

From the serial number you've provided, your Dyson vacuum is a DC08 T Allergy cylinder. You can find support for this model on our website: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc08tw/dc08-telescope-wrap-allergy

Please note, spares and accessories for DC08 T will differ to the spares and accessories for the standard DC08 model. Floor tools, accessories and other parts for DC08 will not fit DC08 T, and vice versa.

If you'd like further help with your machine you're welcome to give the Dyson UK Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298. We're available from 8am-8pm from Monday to Friday, and 8am-6pm on weekends. Calls are free from UK landlines.

Cannot take off the head of my dyson. argh help please

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty removing the floor tool from your machine. This sounds very unusual, and it's possible the release catch has been damaged or jammed in some way.

Our experts should be able to help further, and may be able to talk you through removing the floor tool over the phone.

When you have your machine easily to hand, I would encourage you to call us directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

My vacuum was making a funny noise and had a bad smell

Hi John, it's Jack at Dyson.

Most Dyson vacuums include a thermal cutout which shuts the machine down for protection if it starts to overhead. You should find it will run again after it's cooled down for around 2 hours.

This is likely to have been caused by a blockage, or because the filter is overdue for a wash. To prevent this from happening again, please follow the steps shown in our Support guide: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc08/dc08-standard/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-won-t-switch-on-or-cuts-out/my-machine-cut-out-whilst-i-was-using-it/how-to-wash-filters/check-the-floor-tool

In normal use, the filter needs to be washed at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video attached. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for both sections of the filter to dry completely before replacing it.

If you'd like some further help from our experts after you've given both of these steps a try, please call the Dyson customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 01-475-7109 (IE).

Where is reset button on dyson dc 08

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC08. This machine does not have a reset button - it's designed to cut out automatically if it's overheating due to a blockage, or because the filter needs a wash. After the machine has been allowed to cool for at least 2 hours, you should find it will run again.

However, to prevent this from occurring again, please follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://support.dyson.co.uk/support/dc08/dc08-standard/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-won-t-switch-on-or-cuts-out/my-machine-cut-out-whilst-i-was-using-it/how-to-wash-filters/check-the-floor-tool

It's also a good idea to give the filter a wash - in normal use, this needs to be done at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for it to dry completely before replacing it.

This should resolve the issue, but for any further assistance or advice, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 - our Helpline is available from 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week.

Best wishes,

Jack

The DC08 does not have a reset button. (at least, UK models don't and you don't say where you are).

When the power button is pressed the vacuum turns on, when the button is released the vacuum turns off

Hi there,
This is a common problem for the dyson DC08 & DC07 vacuums. The switch itself is a little bit weak and after a time just fails. Basically the only proper solution is to have the switch replaced. The switch itself is fairly cheap and is only a 10 minute job to fit. Normally by the time the switch is failing I would recommend replacing the washable filter too. If you live in Australia you can get any related parts from Nelson Vacuums or VacuumSpot.
Hope this is helpful for you.
