If you want to replace just the water line going inside the door, you are out of luck. The water line is foamed in place inside the door and is not replaceable without replacing the entire freezer door. If you want to just remove the door, the water line disconnects by pushing the collar on the insta-push fitting toward the center of the fitting while pulling on the tube, all of which is located behind the toe kick plate near the bottom hinge of the freezer door. The same door is used on the PSS26MRSASS, PSS26MRSCSS, PSS26MRSDSS, and the PSS26MRSESS. It is part # WR78X11742 and runs about $500. Frigidaire icemaker not getting water supply at all

Remove back panel and locate the water supply line. Remove line and blow out with air compressor. Somehow, these lines can clog.

The water dispenser the ice dispenser etc one the left door is not be working that whole unit seems to be dead.

Highly unlikely both valves failed at same time. Not sureon your fridge but on some, if freezer door switch is not working, dispenserwon't work. Does the freezer light go off & on when door is opened &closed? If you have a voltmeter, check that water valve is getting 120 voltswhen dispenser is pushed in. If no voltage, I would suspect the micro-switchthat you hear clicking when you push in with a glass. Even though it clicks, the contacts could still be bad in it. If the icemaker is not gettingwater, check for the following problems:
  • Be sure that the icemaker is turned on and plugged in. The power cord for your icemaker is plugged into the left or back wall of the freezer.
  • Check to make sure that the water supply line valve is turned on. This valve is usually found under the sink or in the basement. This is the only water supply line needed for the refrigerator.
  • Be sure that the freezer has cooled down properly after the initial installation. This may take several hours.
  • Make sure the plastic fill line on the icemaker has not come out of the back of the icemaker.
  • Check the fill tube (plastic tube above the icemaker) going into the icemaker. In order to do this, the icemaker must be removed. If the tube is frozen solid, you will most likely need a new water valve.
If the ice-maker is getting water, but there is no water tothe dispenser, check for the following:
  • If the doors were removed during installation, be sure that the door wiring harness is plugged in. Refer to your Owner's Manual/Installation Instructions for the specific location of the wiring harness.
  • Check the water lines and make sure they are not kinked or restricted.
  • There is a tank behind the vegetable drawers or on the left side of the Fresh Food compartment that could be frozen. You may be getting water in the ice-maker, but not the dispenser. To rid the tank of the ice, check the set temperature on your controls. If it is set colder than the recommended setting, adjust to a warmer setting.
Hope this will help you. Good Luck.

No water coming into ice maker

First, make sure your icemaker is on. if the switch has been acidentally flipped, that is why you have no water coming in. next see if the line is pinched behind the fridge.also check to see that a child or maybe someone cleaning didnt turn it off at the water supply line. if neither of these, check to see if you water supply is working. shut it off, remove the line, turn it on again with a glass or bowl underneath to be certain you have a water supply. if that is ok, check your water line again that goes to your icemaker, it may need replacing.

Ice is not being made. How can I get the ice to start being made?

Start with the most basic. Is the right amount of flow getting to the unit? First check. On most units from the door with a water dispenser. You should get app. 8 oz. in 10 seconds. If not, remove water line from unit. Turn water back on with line in a bucket. If just a stream then supply valve is bad even if it is new. If not reconnect line and check water output from first water valve that line connects to. Just unhook line from that valve that supplies water to the water filter to see if flow is there. If so then other than kinked lines then filter or secondary valve in door. Can cycle icemaker. Press and hold button on ice maker. If water is good. Icemaker defective. Replaced many.

Icemaker does not work

if the ice maker cycles but is not getting water check the water supply valve that supplies the water to the machine it split and sends water to the door and the ice maker that side of the valve that goes to the ice maker could be bad you can test it with a 120 volt line cord plugged in the wall plug to that side of the water valve if it works with the hose disconnected it may be a blockage or frozen line to the ice maker

My refrigerator water dispenser is not working. I

In the back of the refrigerator there is a water inlet valve. It will have three hoses one coming in, two going out. A 1/4 line for the icemaker and a 5/16" for the water dispenser. If your icemaker is working and you dont have water at the door the valve to the water dispenser is faulty, you need to replace the water inlet valve. If neither icemaker or water dispenser is working chek your water supply line

JCD2389GES water dispenser over-runs and also starts on own

Low water pressure can be very problematic when it comes to icemaker/water dispenser water inlet valves. If there is low water pressure to the valve, the valve may not seat correctly causing icemaker fill tubes to freeze, icemakers to over/under fill or water dispensers to leak or not shut off fast enough. Check the water pressure to the valve like this:

Turn off the water supply to the refrigerator and remove the water supply line from the water inlet valve behind the refrigerator.

Put the end of the water line in a bucket and turn the water supply on. There should be a good stream of water jetting from the tube. If there is not, the water supply shut off valve is probably plugged and needs to be replaced or there could be an in-line water filter that needs to be replaced. Only use a drill style (non-self piercing) saddle valve http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-584723-%3d%3di584723&PartID=584723 for the water supply.

If there is a good stream, the water inlet valve that the water line connects to at the back of the refrigerator should be replaced.

*Note: Reverse Osmosis (R/O) systems should never be used to supply water to icemakers.

Whirlpool refrigerator stopped making ice.

If there are ice cubes in the icemaker sitting there waiting to be dumped then the problem is in the icemaker. If the icemaker is dry then you have a water supply problem, even if you have a water in the door working.
1.Check the fill line inside the freezer at the icemaker, if it is clogged with ice then remove this ice and replace the water valve.

2. Check the water supply. Turn the water supply off, disconnect the water line from the Ref, turn the water back on an fill a small glass. If the water supply is good the solenoid on the water valve should be checked. This is done with an OHM meter.

Icemaker won't make ice

First, check to make sure you have water pressure at your supply line. (flex hose) If you have pressure and the icemaker is cycling, (arm moving up and down on its own) you most likely have a defective water inlet valve. This is the valve that the supply line connects to. Water is fed to this valve through your flex hose and then passed through a solenoid to your icemaker when the solenoid is energized.
