The receiver is more than likely in single mode. Go to the receiver and ensure the green and blue lights are both on. If not press the door on the right of the receiver and press the mode button until the amber light illuminates closest to the green light. If it will not do this you can press the front panel power button and see if that will allow you to be able to do so , if not try unplugging the unit from the electrical receptacle for thirty seconds and try again. if these fail you will need a service call to have the receiver replaced.

As for the other receiver recording on all four tv's I can not answer that as I do not know the cabling system at your home and whether there are switches etc. It is really an issue that needs to be addressed with more specifics as to all hardware in the system or dealt with by a technician.

I will be more than happy to troublleshoot this for you if you can tell me the other receiver type and if there are any switches in the system and what type of dish you have e.g. 1000.2, Super Dish, or a two dish solution.
Hope to hear from you soon.

SOURCE: I want to record shows

The dvr , of which model you haven't said it, doesn't care where it is and what program is set to record; all it cares is to be connected to a source of signal and, if necessary, to be tuned to the channel in question.
So, if your dvr doesn't have 2 tuners or even a single correct/sattelite one , it will have to be connected directly to the receiver that receives the program you want to record - the one on the bedroom.

My dvr worked fine for several months and then all of sudden it stopped recording Could it be that the hard drive just stopped recording because of failure?

Hi there,
the HDD is a common component to fail in a DVR.
The DVR Itself should actually tell you the status of the storage device if you navigate the menu.

I could probably assist you remotely to find out if you like?

Dish Network remote and receiver problem

Hi Tracy, my name is Mike Houston a Social Media Representative at DISH. With the TV2 remote working for both TVs, you will want to make sure the TV1 input on the receiver is connected to the TV cable (RCA or Coax cable) and TV2 input is connected to TV2 port on the back of the receiver. I will provide you our link explaining in more detail about connections. If you have any further questions I will provide you my e-mail; michael.ouston@dish.com. Here is the link I promised you: http://www.mydish.com/support/same-video-2-tvs

DISH DVR doesn't respond to remote

  1. If this is a TV2 location take the remote to the location of the DVR.
  2. Open the door on the right side of your receiver.
  3. Press SYS INFO.
  4. Press Record multiple times on your remote.
  5. Exit the screen and see if the remote works, if not replace the batteries and repeat steps 1-4
  6. If the remote still doesnt work, and this is a tv2 location (no receiver in the room with the tv) check the antenna on the back of your receiver, make sure that it is connected tightly and standing straight up.
  7. If none of this works call Dish and ask for a new remote.

A lot of the functionality you are wanting is tied to the remote that you have misplaced. You can go to the Pioneer support site and order a new remote, though it is like $30.

As for wiring options to record, it depends on the inputs and outputs that are available on your television.
- Ideally, connect VCR to TV input "1", connect DVR output to TV input "2", and conect TV output to DVR. This will help you avoid any copy protection issues you run into, but not all TV sets have both audio and video output.
- If you don't have TV outputs, connect VCR out to DVR in, and then DVR out to TV in. This will definitely work, but you will have to have the DVR turned on to watch a VCR tape.
