Subject:E840 Indicated in response to damage on the Fixing Roller Trust StopDetails:<Problem>Damage to the Fixing Roller Thrust Stop leads to the indication of error code E840. At times, it can also indicatecode E001/E004.<Cause>The strength of the Fixing Roller Thrust Stop [1] is not adequate and over time, it tends to show damage, failingto prevent the Fixing Roller from moving to and from. Or, the damaged stop can fall to the Shutter DriveAssembly to cause the shutter to malfunction, also resulting in an error.
<Factory Measure>Modify the method used to shape the fixing roller thrust stop to increase its durability.
Servicing Work:If any of the foregoing symptoms is noted, or in the course of a service visit, replace the existing Fixing RollerThrust Stop with its new type.

Canon ir 5055 has an error e000004-0010. how di I fix this?

This is a fixing error code - there is too much temperature difference detected by the thermistors. Mostly a error reset will take care of the problem. You have to get into service mode first. Press the additional function key, then press the 2 & 8 keys at the same time, then the additional function key again. Then copier, function, clear, err, then OK. This clears the error code from the copier. Then power cycle the copier and the copier should be operational. If this doesn't work then you will have to have a technician fix it. DO NOT keep resetting the code. There is something wrong with the copier that needs to be taken care before major damage is done to the copier. Good Luck
