The belt on my tumble drier has broken.
It looks like a lot of srews to take the back off!
I've source a new belt and orderd it, the website say this is a tight fit and needs stretching and I'll need to get the new belt over the drum and onto the motor shaft.
Is there an easy way? Or a workshop manual which descrines how to do this?

Re: Hotpoint tumble drier TDL52S
You dont need to take the back off. to get inside, first remove the panel on the bottom of the front, that will allow you to remove the front panel and you will be able to get inside the dryer. as far as stretching the belt, i have never heard of that. there is a belt tensioner that holds the belt tight though. good luck!

I can't answer your question exactly but in my experience tumble drier belts are not particularly complicated to replace but the process is fairly time-consuming and involved as in order to slip the new belt over the drum an almost complete strip-down of the cabinet is needed.
It is a route-march of removing screws and plastic trim until something important falls off. The task then becomes rather more a thorough interior clean and a changing of felt bearings than merely replacing the belt. The belts last so long that by the time they need replacing the other things are also ready for attention.
This is the plastic "wheel" on the motor that drags the drive belt to spin the dryer. you will need to push back into place with something thin. under the right hand side of the dryer there will be a grill under the motor. look for a black plastic "wheel" and move it away from the casing with something that can fit through the grill.
Hi, To fit the belt to your dryer you will need to remove the top of the appliance by removing the screws at the rear. Pull of the timer/control knob. Look inside the top of the t/dryer behind the control panel you will see little plastic stems which are attached to the facia panel. You need to knock these out to remove the facia. Once this is off then you can remove the the top 3 screws and the bottom 3 screws the front panel will now come off for you to place the belt on the drum and over the motor spindle. Becareful as the t/dryer will be very loose and will twist. it is easier to lay the appilance down on its back to stop everything falling about. Now you can put it back together in the reverse order....
turn the macine aroun you wiil see3screws on the top holding the lid on remove these and take the top off there are 3or4screwes on the top in front of machine remove these lay the macine back at45degres and on the bottom of machine you will find 4more screws remove these and the front will come off place new belt over the drum and with a small crow bar linked through the belt and under the drive apply a lot of down presure to get it on to drive this is realy hard and you mey think the belt is to small it is not make sure u align drum in to front door or machine this is very simple then re assemble and away you go approx time45to hours work
