Setting the Refresh Rate in Enable VGA Mode - Windows XP

You will need to go into Enable VGA Mode to change the refresh rate.

1. Restart the computer and repeatedly tap the F8 key on your keyboard until the Windows Advanced Options Menu appears.
   
   
2. Select “Enable VGA Mode” and press Enter.
   
   
3. If asked to choose your operating system just press Enter.
   
   
4. Once the computer has finished booting up go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> Monitor.
   
   
5. Change your Refresh Rate/Refresh Frequency to a lower setting.
   
   
6. Click Apply to confirm the change.
   
   
7. Close all open windows and restart your computer.

The out of range message indicates that the video signal is detected but that the monitor can not sync to it. This can be becasue the resoution is too high or too low. Try changing the resolution downward first. If this has just shown up, then there is a problem within the monitor that is mistakenly being reported as an out of range condition.

Disable ur video card in safe mode,,,restart then enable vid card then right click on vid card in hardware mgr slect scan for changes.....worked 4 me BOL
