Acer AT3220 Blue flickering

My In-laws Acer has an odd problem, when connected to the sky + satilite system the picture suffers from random blue flickering. If I take the scart lead form the sky box, and run a DVD player on the same lead and same socket, perfect picture. Different scart sockets, same thing sky flickers, DVD fine.

I've tried a different satilite box, same problem, I've tried altering all the picture settings on the sky system and still the problem occurs. Using the RGB inputs for a PC also recreates the blue flickering, and ideas?

SOURCE: Connecting TV, Sky box & DVD player

If it's just an DVD Player, the easist way is just run a skart lead from the player out socket to the spare skart (ext2) on the TV. Then choose ext2 on your TV remote.

Try to use a HDMI cable, your component cables may not be usable with your TV.

Does it beep? Do you have the fans spinning? If it is a notebook, can you connect an external monitor and check if you get picture on it?

Sony kp51hw40 has green shadows and on edges in pictures and blue flickers on and off, tried all adjustments including screen, focus, and menu??? no luck

The CRTs in this model of TV had a problem with internal leakage. The blue was usually the first to show the symptom (flicker). Because all 3 CRTs are connected to the same high voltage source, when 1 acts up, the other 2 suffer as well. You need to replace the Blue CRT. However, this TV has some age on it... 1 tube will lead to 2 tubes, and 2 tubes to 3... They only last about 7 years. If you love the TV, replace all 3 (about $200 each). I recommend replacing the Red and Blue first, adjusting the geometry and convergence to the original Green. Then replace the Green, adjusting the geometry and convergence to the new Blue and Red.

Sorry, you cannot replace VGA chips alone but you can get a new graphic card.
But the problem may be due to driver compatibility.remember your system supports only Microsoft Windows XP.

You can download the driver from the link below and check out before replacing.

You can use the following:

TV Connections:
  1. Composite (red, white, yellow)
  2. Component (red, blue, green)
  3. HDMI -
DVD Player Connections:

  1. Composite (red, white, yellow) - comes standard.
  2. Component (red, blue, green) if you have it.
  3. HDMI - if you have it
You can use any of those to connect the dvd player to the tv. You can use the remainder to connect the satilite box.

Blue skies

Things to consider regarding "blue skys"... Time of day (Sunlight has different color spectrum mix & kelvin temp as the dawn passes on to night. Atmospheric conditions - humidity, ozone, smoke/dust - all filter the colors White Ballance - Do a manual WB before shooting each series. Camera - different sensors are not created equal. One may play more to the blue end, another towards flesh tones. Lens systems, filters affect it too. Many say a good polorizer is one of the best investments for outdoor photos Display media - Monitors need to be color balanced to accurately portray "what you shot". Likewise, color print labs do best with digital files tuned to their specific hardware profiles.
