Hi There, my simpson encore 605 machine 6kg wont spin. It starts okay and goes to thru the cycle till the end however the spin doesnt work. Became a problem after I washed a big doona which I now regret, water started coming out from the bottom and from there the spin cycle doesnt work. Ive been told by a repair man its going to cost me $190 to fix and its a common problem with these machines, any feedback would be appreciated. Jay
Sounds like a motor transmission problem.190.00 parts and labor is not a bad price. Check if there is a warranty with the new parts the service person is installing.

It sounds like your outlet is clogged. Unplug the Washer first. You need to take off the back, there is a plastic piece attached to the hose where the water comes out. It may look like an enclosed bowl. Items that get sucked in, socks, scarves, etc... tend to get caught into this. If it is supposed to be clear, but it isn't, then there is something stuck in there. You must pull it apart and remove the laundered item.
A way to avoid this happening in the future, if this is the cause, is to put small washable items in the center of the load. Do not overload the washer.

Many washers squeal when spin starts. A new belt usually solves it. A bit of belt dressing for car fan belts works wonders. **unplug it while you apply belt dressing! There is usually a tension adjustment by moving the motor mount back a small amount. Don't over do the tension.
