Question about ASUS A8V-VM SE (MB-A8VVMSE) Motherboard
The games usually start and then freeze several moments later and computer just reboots on its own or sometimes requires reset. Same problems under both XP and Ubuntu. Works fine for browsing internet but most games cause a reboot. I think this particular PCI-e card has some of its own memory and it shares some of the system memory maybe this is the cause? maybe a sharing violation? I cant ever see any error messages though. I lost my Asus A8V VM SE motherboard display driver cd. how can i get from net. pls. send driver to my email id '' firstname.lastname@example.org
Check your SMPS is proper output to system without any fluctatution. 12 and 5 Walts. Keep the multimeter for a while to check it.
RAM may be a culprit for frequent restart.
There is no violation on sharing of memory between system and graphics.

Its probably a hardware issue. the video card has dedicated memory so there shouldnt be any problems unless the card is bad. Try removing any extra cards like wireless adapters and expanded firewire cards and sounds card. try running the game wiht just the video card in and see if it still does it. if it doesnt, you know its having conflicts with other hardware, if not, then try removing all the video card software and installing just the drivers without the xtra software. I had similar problems with Two ATI cards, The catalyst software was causiong problems, i removed it but kept the drivers, and all my problems went away.
