Yes I can confirm of the AM antenna that the generic one is alright I have compared with SC-ak750 with an Aiwa, they look the same. The FM antenna tips look a little different but the receiving end on the hi-fi looks the same so I assume the generic one should be alright.

I just acquired an SC-AK750 which doesn't have either an FM or AM antenna. Can I use generic antennas from **** Smiths or similar. Also, I know the unit is second hand - how old is it? Thanks for your help.... Di

The problem is usually either the amp-pac or a regulator. If the problem is the amp-pac, expect to pay around $90 or so for the part alone. The regulator is much less. Yes the unit is repairable, but get an estimate on the cost as some of the newer units may be close to that cost as a replacement.

F61 will not come on

Hi,
F61 is an error code that shows amplifier output chip is defective and need to be replaced in Panasonic SC-AK640 unit.
Amplifier output chip replacement requires soldering work and local repair shop will do this job as it is not user level repair.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

My panasonic sa-ak600 cd player doesn't switch on. I checked the fuse inside the unit and found which was good. hopefully, someone can figure it out. thanks

I had the same problem. My unit would turn on, display F61, and turn off. I looked at the manual. It said if you see 'F61', check and correct the Speaker Cords connection. If this does not fix the problem, there is a Power Supply problem. Consult the dealer. Hope this helps.

F61? how do i fix it...................everytime i turn my panasonic sc-ak340 on i get a error code that reads f61 and then my system shuts down by itself..can this be fixed?

I've encountered that kind of problem.
f61 appear on the screen then shuts down the unit.
The very common defect is your fan, output ic (rsn series).
First check the fan if it is in good condition (disassembling the component is quite technical it need a lot of care).
sometimes the fan is full of dirt that's why it will not work properly which the system sense and uttered the unit to switch of avoid further damaged.
If you confirm that the fan is working properly I will suggest you to bring your unit to a qualified technician/service center because replacing the output i.c. is more technical.

Try to power on the unit without the speakers connected. If it works normally without the error showing, then a speaker wire maybe shorted or a speaker defective. If the error F61 is still there, then most likely the Regulator IC is defective in the unit.
