Nope. it is not normal...

there could be a loose connection on the plug. solution is to replace the plug. make sure connection of wire to the new plug is ok.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Delonghi heater mg15t sprung a leak oil all over the floor, pulled plug and am a very handy person. use to work on cars etc advise. what could be problem

I suspect it may have over heated and sprung a leak or burst a seam. If that is the case, there's more to it than just repairing the leak. The reason it overheated is the main issue and is it worth repairing or can it be safely repaired? Too many variables here.

the gas pressure test should be done. Propane should have an outlet(heater side of the regulator)of 7 inches of water column. the inlet side has to be higher than that to supply it the proper pressure. Also the heater should have been converted to LP with proper orfices and springs

Plug gets red hot on A.C. after 1/2 hour running.

Local hardware store would have replacement plugs and yes that would help the situation out. But the problem may lie inside the actual outlet also. So you may want to investigate the problem alittle more unless you have already done so

I Have oil filled heater that has been sitting in the garage for three years and I lost any instructions were with it been with it,is there anything special I need to know bwfore I plug it in. Thanks

I take it that what you have is a space heater. Which would mean yes there are somethings you will want to check after three years of storage. First of all would be the oil buner which is ignited by a step up transformer located in the rear of the heater. There is a box on top of the blower that you can open you will see two electrodes and two tabs off the transformer. Sanded those with a light peice of sand paper. That will make sure your firing system has good contact, other than that you can't tell until you fire it up. That amount of time in storage could have gummed up the feul pump or anything else mechincal or elec..

Delonghi Pac L90

Hoses for proper connection should have been included with your purchase. Without the hoses the set-up can not be done satisfactory. One is for fresh air supply and the other is the hot air exit hose. These are normally vented out a window. Check with the dealer where you perchased the unit from. If from a private individual contact them.
