Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

My lg gr-222sbd fridge/freezer is not working properly. Every 5 minutes, there is a click sound, then a buzz for about 10 seconds, then another click sound. It is not cooling properly. Do I need to buy a new fridge or is this fixable?

Buzzing sound Kitchen Aid fridge Model KBLA20EMSS

It may be the arm in the ice maker is down. Even though the ice maker does not have the water hooked up if the arm above the ice bin is down it will still cycle the ice maker try lifting up the arm it should stay up this signals the ice maker that the bin is full and should shut off the ice maker. Hope this helps.

My refridgerator is making a buzzing sound with a click at the end every 2-3 minutes. The buzzing lasts about 5-7 seconds with a single clock at the end. When this sound is made the lights in the fridge...

Possible this can be a faulty thermostat sensor action tripping the relay which is clicking. You must remove and check the backside relay if the fridge is old for a wearing off.
Also a fault in the circuit of the auto defrost can cause the compressor to shut and start.
Since the fridge works well the fault can be related only to a erratic connection or failing component.

The fridge/freezer is making buzzing noises that go on for 10/15 seconds every 5 minutes or so. Both fridge and freezer have heated up to 49 and 26 degrees through the night. Help!

ur compressor is trying to start but the safety is turning it off may have a bad compressor but try this first might get it working again -(safety click sound) disconnects power when compressor gets to hot or is drawing to many amps--stuck--comp gets hot unplug unit and clean with a vacuum carefully under where comp and fan are this is the condenser area after cleaning or 1 hr plug in and check for start and that condenser fan is working may be reason for overheating-if still not working compressor needs service

Refrigerator buzzing for 10 seconds every 4 or 5 minutes

Buzzing is usually a fan, like one in the freezer, or back bottom - for cooling the freon. The compressor over-heat usually will make a single click (off) and a few minutes later a click (on). If the fan in the freezer stops working well, the freezer will frost up and the fridge section will not be cold enough.

REF AND FREEZER STOP COOLING

We had a repairman come out, said it was the compressor, bad news...$650 if he repaired...good news...compressor under manufacturer's warranty for five years so you may want to call Maytag. It will be less expensive if the part is covered and you only have to pay for labor. Hope this helps. Bought our fridge 12/2004 so it was covered.

Fridge stopped working suddenly

Sounds like the relay (start device) on the compressor has failed.  This is a very common problem especially for models that are 3-5 yrs old.  I would replace that first.
