Hi,

To my knowledge, there could only be three (3) reasons for the motherboard to be doing a series of beeping sounds. Depending on the sequence and frequency of beeps, it could indicate:

  • memory problem;
  • video card problem;
  • BIOS problem.
Of course corrective solution is largely based on which is the problem and could be corrected with/by:
  • check/clean/replace;
  • or in the case of the BIOS, reset, update or flash.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Different kind of beeping have different meaning.. But, the common problem is your hardware allocation on the board. Just try to pull out the ram and insert it back. Do this also on your vga card. By the way, what type bios do you use? e.i : pheonix, award, IBM. Explain the type of beep of your computer.

Computers doesn't startup and has no beep

remove the RAM chip and start the computer without the ram chip inserted and see if you get beeps if yes the motherboard/bios is ok, even if you dont get to hear any beeps, try rubbing the edge of the ram which goes into the ram slot using a Eraser and then reinsert the same back in Ram slot and then see if you can at least get to bios and see if hard disk is detected as windows boots from hard disk if yes check if you can boot to windows if no may need to reinstall windows.please reply with results so that can help

Screen went blank, have yellow indicator on monitor, try to reboot, getting three beeps, nothing more.

One beep during startup is "good", but THREE is not good.

Three beeps means a hardware fault -- probably that the video-adapter on your computer has failed.

Connect the monitor to another desktop/laptop, to confirm that it still works.

Turn the computer off, and disconnect the power-cord.
Remove all the RAM, and then re-insert just one stick.
Reconnect the power, and try to boot.
If you still get THREE beeps, turn it off.
Disconnect the power-cord, and reinsert the remaining RAM sticks.

If you still have the problem, then it's time to replace the video-card on your computer. Take the computer to a computer-store, so that they can sell you a video-card that will be compatible with your motherboard.
Hopefully, if you buy the video-card from them, they will install it for a modest fee -- ask them.

On boot up computer keeps restarting with a single beep motherboard model- k7sem elite group

the symptom you're describing my be a classic Gigabyte response to bad memory. First of all, go into bios, make sure your RAM voltage and timings are set correctly. If they are correct, you likely have a bad stick of RAM. Remove one stick, test the system, if the problem persists, swap sticks and try again
also try this if it continues Right click My Computer click Properties -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery. Uncheck Automatically restart. It should give you a blue screen that may give you some indication as to the cause.
