Hello emmalsanders,
you have a problem of some short circuit in your monitor.
solution:please check out the power cord if there is any opening or mix up with other wires.
check out the cable and cord .check out whether you connect it in the same direction.

Is there a fuse that might need to be changed after a power surge?

fuses do not control power surges
they merely stop over current draw
you will need to find the electronic components that are subject to excessive voltage and replace them.

to prevent power surges , use a quality surge board in the units power supply cord

The inability to read DVD+R disks probably is the reason the recorder was offered for sale on eBay.

My factory DVD player will except disc the ejects it

If I understand your rather cryptic post correctly...

This very well could be a Blue-Ray disk loaded into a
non-Blue-Ray capable DVD player. Your car player's capabilities MUST match the disc, otherwise, the disc won't play.

I've run into this very same problem with my home DVD players. Which both are non-Blue-Ray capable, but I was able to verify the Blue-Ray discs on my PC.

Where can I purchase the Audio Video Connection for my dvd player I want to hook it up to my TV but can't find the correct cable Thank you Sandy

For the COBY TF-DVD7500, the video is carried on a single RCA plug cable. You can make due with a composite video cable (with three RCA plugs on each end) or get an RCA cable. The audio output can either be digital audio (which uses a special coax cable) or a headphone connector (analog audio).I believe the headphone jack is a 3.5 mm connector. If you use a composite video cable to your TV, you can connect the red and white plugs to an adapter (3.5 mm M to 2 RCA F). Then the TV speakers will get the audio track; otherwise you can use the DVD player speakers or the digital audio out.

I hope this helps.
