Only the rear speakers are playing. I don't have the instructions for the unit so I don't know where the fader balance is. Can you help?

Pioneer DEH-P47DH Front left speaker not working, if i press audio button, i get no option to adjust balance, just fader. left rear speaker works and plays as loudly as right rear speaker. Huh? bad...

Are you sure you wired up the head unit correctly? It is fairly uncommon for a audio output amplifier to blow out leaving 3 working speakers and 1 not working. So more than likely it is bad wiring or a blown speaker. Best bet would be get a digital multimeter and ohm out the speaker and see if it has continuity and is the same as the adjacent speaker. You could also try swapping the left/right channel wiring and see if the front right speaker stops working when connected to the left speaker output or vice versa.

How do I set the volume on both speakers?

Go to the stereo fader and balance the volume in each speakers. You can see there L for left speaker R for right speaker and F for front speaker and then R for rear speaker. Put them all in zero to have equal sounds volume.

Balance/Fader is backwards and rear speakers do not emit sound when only rear is selected

It sounds like you have your front and rear speakers wired backwards, your rear speakers are connected to the front input and vice a versa.
To test that, select "front"and you should only get sound from the rear speakers.
That would also explain why the fader is backwards too.

Wiring my pioneer deh -p2000 to my speekers

Check the back of your receiver, to see the plug with a set of 8 wires that should have the following color standard:
Left front: White
Right Front: Grey
Left Rear: Green
Right Rear: Purple

Note: 1) Colored wires with a line/stripe on it is NEGATIVE, thus connect to negative on speaker. When connected, speaker cone should vibrate OUT, not inwards, otherwise reverse speaker connection;
2) You can check to see if speakers are in the right order by 'panning' balance and fader controls (from left front only to right front only, to right rear only, to left rear only in succession)
3)If there is an amplifier in your setup, the RCA plugs (like home audio plugs, should be connected instead, NEVER both!)
Hope this helps

I want to install the DEH-3700MP in my car I forgot which wire go to what speaker. I know that the wires with the black stripe is the negative.  Dan

The speaker conections come with their own color: green/greenblack-striped yellow/yellowblack-striped and so on .
these speaker outputs should not be too difficult to sort out.
Just connect one speaker and determine wich speaker sounds, confirm if it is the right speaker by changing the fader and balance on the radio and this way you'll know if it is the right output...

Want to know what color codes are on deh-p545W, looking for the speakes wire codes

What codes are you looking for ? Is that the speaker wire colors are grey/grey w/black stripe, white/white w/black stripe, purple/pruple w/black, green/green w/black stipe. The black stipe wires is the negative. If you don't have tags on the wires that say; LR,LF,RR,RF. There is another way to find which speaker wire goes where. First hook-up your Battery and Accessory and negative wires. Then just go in the unit and find the balance and fader control. Then just do one side at a time; like front left, rear left and so on....

No fader control on a pioneer deh-2000mp

No fader control when using the onboard amplifer or an external one? Do you have all of the speakers hooked up correctly or are you running the fronts and rears off of two speaker outputs?
