Question about ViewSonic VG150 15" LCD Monitor
When I updated my Mac from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11 for Final Cut Studio 6, my 150 monitor will now only come up as 1280x768, which is rather distorted.
It seems to be a driver problem. If I downgrade the computer to 10.4.0 then the 1024x768 standard resolution becomes available. Any incremental upgrade, erases this and all other resolutions leaving me with 1280x768.
The wild thing is that it seems to be an OS level problem as the same things happens on my Due 1 G G4 and a dual 2G G5. Any thoughts?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Use the menu button on the monitor itself to adjust for the screen size in DVI mode. On your SVGA adapter, go to your display properties (right click on desktop) click ADVANCED and change the refresh rate to fix the first problem mentioned.

I was having the same problem. Believe it or not I fixed it by unplugging the monitor, and when I restarted my PC I again had the 1440 × 900 option.

SOURCE: the screen resolution
Your going to love this. Open control panel, open display. Click the settings tab. Click Advanced. Click the Monitor tab. Remove the check mark from "hide modes". Click the drop down menu & set it to 75 hertz. Click Apply & than ok. You are now back to the Settings window. At Screen resolution move the slide bar to more. Pick what you want. Again click Apply & than ok. Bingo there you are! Have a nice day.

Have you tried updating your graphics card? Go to ATI's website and try updating your video card and hopefully that solves your problem. Go to amd.com and go to ATI tab to update your driver. I forgot ATI is under AMD's umbrella
