to get this device to charge it is more complex than just plugging it in. when i first bought mine it wouldnt charge at all, the way i found to get it to charge while plugged into a usb powered device is to have it switched on, press the M key until it starts playing then hold the play/pause button until you only see the charge bar. then your mp3 player will charge correctly. if only the manual was even slightly relevant to the product...
I later found out that while trying to download more songs, the entire songs in my sandisk mp3 was corrupted by a virus. I solved the problem by formatting the device and thereafter downloaded new songs into it. As soon as I did that, the songs started playing normally at full volume.

I HAD A VISUAL LAND MP3 PLAYER. ONLY PLAYED FIRST 10 SECONDS OF SONG. IT IS SET TO INTRO. WHILE THE SONG IS PLAYING PUSH THE BUTTONS AND YOU WILL SEE THE OPTIONS COME UP. SONG HAS TO BE PLAYING. CHANGE FROM INTRO.
I am having the exact same problem. I put songs on the MP3 player and it hasn't worked since. I'm not getting any help or support. If you find out what the problem is, please contact me. This is is so disappointing to buy a Xmas present that doesn't work!
