To solve this open the camera and remove the battery chamber (be careful with the cable that joins the chamber with the main board because it is very fragile). Once you have the battery chamber, clean all the contacts with a contact cleaner. By all the contacts I mean, the 4 contacts for the batteries and the two contacts (male and female) that join the main board and the chamber. Be careful when you apply the contact cleaner to the main board contact bacause it is a liquid and might harm your lens if it reaches it. I have made this with my camera and worked awesome.

I keep getting the message: Turn the power off and on again. Just bought the Cybershot DSC-W370 tonight and it worked fine, until the battery was charged. ???

Why don't remove the battery? First, switch off the camera then remove the battery. Wait for 5-10 mins then put the battery back on and charge it straightaway. remember to leave the camera off while charging. let it charge full then unplug and switch the camera back on. let me know if this works for you.

Part number of lens assembly of Sony DSC-W7 is as follows..

Available in Part Store.
New camera would be better choice as lens assembly is high cost part.

Sony DSC W7 consumes battery in less than 5 minutes

So I had the same problem with my camera. The issue is related to the cracked camera door. The crack protrudes through the large C & E on the bottom of the camera door. When you close the door the negative battery doesn't fully contact the copper node that located on the battery door. The solution I reccomend is to buy a new camera door. If you need a quick fix I would take a small needle & pry up the copper node on the negative side of the battery door. This will allow more contact with the negative side of the battery when the door closes.
