Does anyone know the minimum depth of field for the FZ20. I have seen some discussion of small sensor digital cameras that says they don't have very shallow DOF. If I want to take portrait shots with the FZ20, will the background be blurred? Assuming I open the lense all the way and the subject is about 10-15 feet away? Thanks, j
Hello, In my opinion sensor size doesn't matter as much as the lens parameters. In case of FZ20 you get massive zoom with fairly fast 2.8 throughout entire focal range, so you should be able to get some decent effects. To get nice shallow DOF I would experiment with the lens wide open and set as long as you can (if you manage to do portraits at 2.8 and 430mm DOF this should blur the background nicely). Also try to compose the pics in a way that the background is as far from the object you're shooting. Hope this helps,

it boots up fine but operating buttons (ie: menu, zoom, trash, evf/lcd) are not functional. The lack of functionality began as an intermittent issue but now they are just "dead in the water". I bought this new and there has been limited use and no moisture or "dropping" events. Jeff
