Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Kodak 5500 all in one printer, grainy pictures

I have changed the ink, done the calibration thing and still the pictures come out not as sharp as they used to and seems like it has grid lines in red in the picture, help, I want to just get rid of it.

    my pictures come out prodominately blue no matter what subject!

    My printer was fantastic, I changed the ink cartridge and poof, grain
    running through the pictures, colour off, everything looks blue and
    when I tried to run a calibirqation sheet, it comes out almosy
    completely black and white, hardly any colour at all.

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. 
Have you tried a deep cleaning of your machine? Very often this process done a couple of times will clear any clogging and all good printing to return. 
If you have, and this situation continues, you should call the Kodak team and they will stand behind your printer 100%. I am confident they will get your printer working as it was before. If anything needs to be done it will be and quickly. You can call them at 800-421-6699.

Even with new ink cartridges, the picture comes out very streaked and faded with different colors


Fist you need to do is to reseat the ink cartirdges, then clean the Printhead., by doing this you need to press menu On you 5500 printer press down arrow until you see the clean printhead then press Ok, now you need to choose Deep clean you need to do it 2x, then after that, you need to calibrate printer by doing this you need to press menu again then look for calibrate printer or printhead then press Ok.

If you have the software or home center of your 5500 printer you can just click the help icon(?) on upper rihgt corner of the window then you should see there the maintenance under maintenance you should see there clean printhead and calibrate printer.

If this issue not solve it means your printhead needs of replacement please kodak kodak toll free 1 800 421 6699., Gudluck!

Kodak is sending me ANOTHER replacement printhead .... third replacement in 19 months.

Prints come out blue.


You may have a faulty printhead. I just purchased a new one and had a time with it. Awful color in picture. Kodak sent me a new printhead and new ink tanks. Now it works great. You may have printhead trouble also, contact Kodak for help.

When printing, the black ink barely works, acts like it is empty.


Basically you have done most of the procedure for this issue, try resetting the ink then try again, for same issue call support for printhead replacement 1 800 421 6699

The printout has lines going through the pictures or wordings


here is the troubleshooting steps
try to remove the ink cartridges and put it baack again but make sure to hear a click sound when you put the ink cartridges,after that try to print again picture and if still has lines through it press the menu in the printer scroll down until you can see the calibrate printer,press ok and select the print calibration page and hit the ok button..after it print place the calibration page in the scanner glass and press start, try to print again a picture and if still has a line call the kodak hot line 1 800 421 6699 and you might have a printhead replacement.

Easyshare5300 wont print


Hi Grandma,

Sorry to hear of your trouble.

I would remove the ink carts, reseat the print head then reinstall the ink carts. Try printing again to see if things improve. If it does good. If not try the Kodak online team. 800 421 6699 They will help you get things working correctly.

Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 will not print with black ink


Here are the things you will be asked to try if you call support. They may fix the problems as well. Taking the printhead out and putting it back in is the big helper.

Remove the black and color ink cartridges.
Right above where the black ink cartridge was, in the top left hand corner of the printhead, push up towards the ceiling and you should be able to push a button that releases the printhead.
Place the printhead right back into the printer and push straight back on the back wall.
You should hear a loud snap.
Replace the ink cartridges which should snap as well.
Close the printer.
After about a minute or so the printer will ask you to do a calibration.
Insert a paper and press start.
Scan the calibration sheet.
After that, in the menu, do a printhead clean.
(If this is a 5100, do it in the home center ->? in the top right ->Maintainence ->Clean Printhead.)
Do one basic and one deep.
Print a demo sheet to see if anything has changed.
If the picture looks better, continue to do cleans.
In the event that it does not, the printhead will need to be replaced and since the printer is still under warranty, Kodak specialists will try to overnight you a printhead.
The whole process is short and free.
