The CDMA version of the Pearl is not MMS capable... you need to go to the Blackberry website and update your software to the latest version (4.5)... this will solve any and all issues (for the most part)

What carrier is your pearl on, that makes a difference as well. sprint does not support mms for the blackberrys.
p.s. on other carriers you must have the data package in order to send recieve media messages(pic, video, sound/voice notes).
for further assistance please email support@ridawreck.com. the site is still under design but email is fully functional. Someone will further assist you if your problem has not been resolved yet.

You can either email or MMS pictures.

MMS means "Multimedia Messaging Service". It is like SMS (AKA text messages), but it is for text, images and sounds.

This could be the problem you are seeing with sending:

Picture messaging allows the user to send and receive photos to and from their contacts.
Important: The Instant Messenger recipient must be online to send the picture.
To send pictures from your BlackBerry smartphone camera using <Instant Messenger>, complete the following steps:

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, preview a picture.
  2. Display the menu and select the Instant Messenger you want to use to send the picture.
  3. Complete the onscreen instructions.
To send a picture from within an Instant Messenger for BlackBerry smartphones application session, complete the following steps:
  1. Within the Instant Messenger session, display the menu and select Send Media. The Which Type dialog appears.
  2. Click Picture. The Pictures folder opens.
  3. Select the picture you want to send. A request is sent to the recipient indicating you sent a file and an option to Accept or Decline the file.
    • If the recipient clicks Accept, the Save File dialog opens. The recipient saves the file on the BlackBerry smartphone.
    • If the recipient clicks Decline, The sender receives a message indication the file transfer was declined.

The BlackBerry smartphone user is unable to send a picture as an email message from the Media application of the BlackBerry smartphone. The Send option is not present on the menu when the email message is sent using an email account that is associated with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Although the current BlackBerry Internet Service supports large attachments or attachments that are in their native format, BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0 does not.
A BlackBerry smartphone that is provisioned with the current BlackBerry Internet Service uses it as the default method for sending pictures from the camera. As a result, when attempting to send a picture attachment from an email account that is associated with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, the Send option will be missing from the menu as the image is in native format and size.

Upgrade the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to software version 4.1 Service Pack 2 or later, since support for large attachments or attachments that are in their native format has been introduced in that version.

Follow the steps below to send the picture attachment from the Messages application on the BlackBerry smartphone:
  1. Select Messages on the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Select the Compose Email option from the menu.
  4. In the To field, enter the contact address where the email message is to be sent.
  5. Press the Menu key again.
  6. Select the Attach File option from the menu.
  7. Browse to and select the picture to be attached to the email message.
  8. Send the email message.

I recently had the same problem on my blackberry 8100. Now first of all you have to make sure you have the data service which allows you to send and receive mms messages. If you do then what you might have to do is contact your service provider so that they can register you device. thats what i did and now i can send and receive mms messages! hope this helps!!

First, you need to contact your cellular service provider and Make Sure you have MMS service activated on your account. You must have MMS activated to use picture messaging.

If customer service verifys that MMS has been activated on your account, request Tech Support Assistance. Tech Support can make sure your phone is configured correctly and assist you in sending and receiving a (test) picture message. And, Tech support assistance from your cellular company is free.

Blackberry will not send pics as mms

The BlackBerry device user is unable to send photos taken with the BlackBerry device camera in Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) messages, because the photos taken by the BlackBerry device camera may be too large to send in MMS messages.
Reduce the size or quality of the photo and resend.
To access the size and quality options for the BlackBerry device camera, complete the following steps:
  1. Open the Camera application.
  2. Click the menu button.
  3. Select Options.
  4. Change the Picture Size and Picture Quality settings as required.
  5. Click the menu button and select Save.
And try to send the photo in an email message instead of in an MMS message.

Picture Message

you need to call your service provider (mine is TMobile) and tell them to turn on Black Berry Feature Enabler (This allows customers with certain Blackberry devices who are not signed up for BlackBerry service to enjoy phone features such as Picture Messaging, Instant Messaging and t-zones.) this is directly from their site, and this service is 100% free

Blackberry pearl 8100 wont let me email pics

Assuming you have an 8100 pearl I believe for some reason this phone does not do mms. either that or the following is true.

With certain wireless providers a BB data plan may be required for MMS to function. For example, T-Mobile has a $0.00 feature that can be added to a persons account to enable MMS (which is included in messaging packages) without enabling full data capabilities. I believe Alltel offers a similiar feature. Contrastingly, ATT BB's cannot send or receive MMS without the $30, minimum, BB data feature being on the account. I'm waiting for a class action suit against ATT for taking subscribers money for messaging packages, that include picture messaging, but not providing all of the services being paid for by some PDA phone users.

Cannot receive photos from other cell phones

A few factors could cause this. Does anything come through when a message is sent. Do you get any error messages from this. Are you able to send picture messages?
