    Hello,

    Can you please specify what platform and application the sql error is being generated?

    Also, are the same number of fields being passed to this statement from the cursor?

    Thank You,
    Raphael

I think the problem is caused by the line of code:DB.Close
(7 lines from the end of your function).
Try commenting out the call to DB.Close

The error is being generated because you are trying to order on a value not in your selected fields e.g EFFECTIVE_DATE

You only have TRANSACTION_TYPE in your select statement

Whst is the difference between .mdf,.ldf & .sdf?

LDF - layered data file, is the transaction log file for your database. It allows you to roll back changes you made to the data to a particular point and is used in rebuilding the data should it become corrupted.

MDF - Meta data file, is your actual data

SDF - Is a sequential data file, a flat file that can be used for compatibility with MS-SQL server, MySQL, etc.

Database talks to code but code won't talk to database

Make sure you are connecting to the database,then just before you call your sql to insert use an echo statement to display the sql and check it for syntax:-
$sql = 'insert into table1 values('.$no.','.$no.',"block","'.$value3.'", "'.$value4.'")';
echo "SQL ==>" STARTOFSQL<br>".$sql." ENDOFSQL<br>";

Job waiting message appears on screen.

You can selectively clear information stored in your machine’s memory.
1. Press Setup on the control panel. The display shows the first menu;
FAX NUMBER/NAME.
2. Press ➛ or ❿ until ‘MEMORY CLEAR’ appears, then press
Start/Enter. The display shows the items you can choose to clear.
• FAX NUMBER/NAME : your fax number and name are cleared from
the machine’s memory.
• DIAL/SCHEDULE : clears the one-touch, speed dial, or group dial
numbers stored in the memory. In addition, all
the Schedule Job operations you have reserved
are also cancelled.
• JOURNAL : clears all records of transmissions & receptions.
• DEFAULT SETUP : restores all the option settings to factory default.

Only clear de Journal, don't clear the other.
Try this if it resolve the problem.
