Three things to check that may help you, One, make sure contacts for the charger & remote are clean, because dust can cause it to get a bad connection. Two, make sure your power cable does not have a short circuit. You can either check it with a meter or try the third with the second step. Third, lay the remote on a flat surface with charger plugged in and move the remote around on the charger to see if certain spots work for you. I hope this helps?

Emerson emp287c-4 wont charge with usb

Having same issue, battery will not charge. Can't even use it unless its plugged into my computer the whole time. Followed the charging instructions, "turn power switch on and then use the usb cord provided to plug the device into the computer." I do so and it reads that it is charging, however the bar never goes to the green charge symbol. It said to not let it charge past 8 hours so I always unplug it before that. Even tried the recommended 3-5 hours and still I turn it on and it says right away battery low.

My 2 year 9400 charging station does not make good charge conection with 9400 remote. red charge light does not come on untill you giggle many times in cradle. checked battery connection and power off and...

Hi,thanks for posting your Question.. Most times, when you keep using a TSU9400 remote which needs to be charged, and you always remove the charger from it and fix back when you need to charge it again..It makes the mouth of the port where you insert the pin charger to go weaker every time..
So in the issues you might need to replace the port where you insert the charger into..Or you can test out another charger first to confirm if it will charge properly..
If it does not charge, that means you might need to contact your repair canter in your area for help.
It might also be a problem of firmware update too.. You can use the link below to know more about firmware update..

Hope it helped...

My Harmony One remote will no longer charge. I took the battery out of it and place it in my Harmony 880 and placed it in it charging cradle. It started charging. I know it is not a battery issue. Yes...

This is a common problem for these remotes. Constant handling of the remote results in dirty charging contacts located on the bottom of the remote. Oils and acids from your fingers and hands also dirty the charging contacts. Also the contacts on the charging cradle can become dirty and have been known to not make solid contact. I would recommend cleaning BOTH the charging contacts AND the cradle contacts using a Q-tip and some good quality rubbing alcohol.Be careful to just wet the Q-tip and gently scrub the contacts only. Careful regular maintenance should help you resolve this problem. Also you could check the Logitech website for recommendations on how to clean their equipment. You can also try the rubber band trick!! Which is while placing the remote into the docking cradle, listen for a beep which indicates a solid connection. While still maintaining a solid grip on both charger and remote wrap a rubber band around both devices. This should ensure a good connection while the remote is charging! Good Luck!

Charging dock wont charge remote any longer

Hello Sir, hi, we need to know where the trouble is, we have 2 to test, the charging dock and the remote control. to test the charging dock you may need to measure the voltage output of around 5 to 12 volts of the dock using a voltmeter usually used by a technician, Its easier if a friend has another dock. Or get another charging base. follow this link. http://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Battery-Logitech-Harmony-Remotes/dp/B002SLP3X8

Won't charge in cradle, shows slide show then goes dark. has power to remote won't charge know matter long it sit on it

The early 880's had problems with the charging circuit. For a while Harmony was replacing these units even outside the waranty period. Not sure if they are doing this anymore. However your remote is recognizing that it is in the craddle because the slide show starts which means the charging circuit in the remote is not passing power onto the battery or the battery is not making a good connection inside the remote. I would pull the battery and clean the little contacts in the remote and the contact pads on the battery. If you have a volt meter I would pull the battery and check voltage. You should see around 4 VDC on the 2 outside copper pads if it is charged. If it is charged and the remote is not working then its time for a new remote. If the battery is dead then it is likley the typical charging problem of the 880 is causing the failure. Hopefully cleaning the contacts both inside the remote and in the charging craddle will solve the problem. Use alcohol and a q-tip to clean all of the contacts.
Good Luck

Harmony 890 just went dead. Nothing. Nada. Not

I have an 890 also. I've found that the remote doesn't always charge when it the charger. I have to put a rubber band around it and make sure it shows that the the battery symbol on the display is showing that it charging. Or the battery isn't taking a charge anymore and I'd try to replace it. Doesn't really hold a charge very long either.

I even bought a new battery and the remote still will not charge.

not the battery. open the base and raise the three little brass charging contacts. i used a file to shave the plastic on remote contacts to get it to seat better on the base. if you mash on the remote while on base and it starts to charge then do the mod.

Cant charge my Logitech 1000i

If you have compressed air, try to blow into the end of the power cable that plugs into the charging base as well as the the charging base port for the power cable. Make sure that you don't shake the can or moisture will result, otherwise give it a little bit and replace the power cable into the charging base. How long have you had the remote? Logitech is real good about warranty issues.

Thanks, 81

Remote control could not be charged at its base

I have the same remote. Clean the contacts on both the remote and the charger base. Then place the remote in the charger. If it does not start charging, wiggle the remote back and forth in the base while pushing down gently. It should begin charging. I have found I must clean the charging contacts every few months.
