Question about Boss DVD9800B Car DVD Player

1 Answer

Boss DVD9800B no sound from speaker wires

I have a Boss DVD-9800B and I have no sound coming from the speaker wires. I can hook up an amp to the RCA's and have sound coming from them. Boss said it would be $640 to send it in and have it repaired, which is out of the question. I'm an electronic tech and could easily do any necessary repairs myself. Is there a detailed manual that it could just be a setting causing this, or any tips what to check internally? Thanks in advance for any help.

Ouku single din no sound from rca cables

Sorry I did not use the video out RCA cables. My audio RCA cables worked fine... I ran them to my JBL amplifier through a conversion adapter. I did not run it direct to the amp.. I used Metra TYTO-01 03-08 Toyota Vehicles Harness for JBL SYS (Ebay item 160560648718) and it worked great.

Here is the wiring color coding that I found online:

OK....Pull the dvd player out. Look to see if it has speaker wires coming off the back. If not, does it have rca plugs???? (red and white). if so then you are gonna need an amplifier to get sound. If it DOES hve speaker wires, chec to see if they are hooked up to the speakers in the vehicle.

I have 2002 cwrn vic and i bought boss 7300 i got all speaker wire hooked up..were i hook up battery yellow cord and trouble with making shure im doing this right..

Yellow wire should be hooked to the constant hot wire in your dash. If you check your wires with a multimeter (if you have one), with your key out of the ignition, you will find it....Only one should have voltage when key is in off position.

Need to know witch rca oiutput on the back of my boss bv9455 i need to hook to my amp

Depending on the model, if there is a "subwoofer" pre out and yu want subs, use that one. If not and you want it for a sub amp, use the rears, leaving the frints open in case you ever want to hook up an amp for your mids and highs.
