I assume from your message that you mean you can't print a document from your computer or send and receive faxes. Chances are, you'll have to reinstall the printer, just the same way as when you first bought it and hooked it up to your PC. Also, the operating system on your computer is going to make a difference. For example, if you originally hooked the printer up to a Windows XP computer and now you're hooking it up to a Windows Vista computer, you'll need to install different print drivers.

I don't know if you have the original manuals or disks that came with the printer. If not, a good place to start would be to download the manual from HP.com. That'll at least get you started:

Manuals page

It would be really helpful if you were to post what steps you took to connect your printer to your PC once you got the printer out of storage. Also, how long had it been in storage, are you hooking it up to the same PC or a different PC than before you put it in storage, and are you hooking it up to the PC differently now than before (printer cable vs. USB cable, for example)?

Thanks.

How do i take HP officejet 8600 back to original default

Alan: Your question is too vague. Did you actually modify your printers BIOS or are you talking about your setting in an application or your Operating System. If you've modified your BIOS then ouch and good luck! If your talking about the settings in an application in Windows that is another thing. Because I've no idea what you speak of I can only offer a link to the User Guide. The info you seek is within.

I have a HP officejet 6500A Plus printer. The driver is downloaded and the printer is found on the network but it wont connect to my computer.

There is an exact install process that makes wireless printers work, get the install directions and program from HP.com and follow exactly. In essence, the printer gets installed usually VIA USB, then the wireless portion gets set up, and FINALLY each machine needs a full install run on it, seeking the network based printer. Do not use plug and play, it only partially will work.

We have a hp officejet pro 8500 which only holds 15 email addresses. we don't know how to delete unused email addresses THANK YOU!

Greetings,

Your printer comes in 8 different versions, see at link below;

http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_query=Officejet+Pro+8500&submit.x=7&submit.y=7

If you choose your version, at the next page click the "Manuals" icon and you'll be directed to manuals for your exact machine, one of which will likely explain the procedure you seek.

Best Regards,

Marcus

Look carefully, entering Printer details, should come up with recent updates for your machine, download most recent, takes time to load and install.
Hint, before starting, remove the old program, saves time.

Carraige jam

If you can move the cartridge carrier, move it all the way to the left, turn the printer off and then on again.

Your printer may not be parking the cartridge completely so check the area that the cartridge rests over when parked for a sponge or wiper that is out of place.

I've pulled broken light bulbs, paper clips among the many things that can cause the cartridge from parking in the rest stop.

Worldvet
