Question about Toshiba D-VR600

1 Answer

Toshiba D-VR600 The picture is slightly larger than the screen, so that it does not fit to where you can see it completely. I tried the zoom button, but it only makes it even closer, or so small that it is only a small portion of the screen. This only began recently. I have a 2 year old who may have gotten a the remote - is there any way to reset the factory default settings?

The picture is too large for the screen, my 1 year old did it, and I can't get it back to normal. The zoom button only takes it in further. I even reset the settings to default. Nothing.

I am having issues hooking up a D-VR600KU to a dish network box. It asks for a manufacturers code and this is not in the manual. Does anyone have a solution to this issue? It is currently connected to both...

We would be happy to help. We currently do not have any codes specifically for your Toshiba D-VR600, we would recommend performing a power scan. If there is a code that is compatible with your TV the power scan will find it.

Power scan instructions:

Step 1:
Press and hold the TV mode button until all mode button back lights illuminate, then release.

Step 2:
Press and release the Power button.

Step 3:
Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will power off.

Step 4:
Press the pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.

After doing the power scan please remember to put the remote back into SAT mode. Thanks so much for being a valued DISH Network customer!

Attempting to play a DVD on a Toshiba player but not able to get full screen picture on TV. Can you help with the problem?

A DVD plays in "Letterbox" format. To have full screen, the TV settings need to be changed to full screen, or zoom. Found in the TV menu of most TV's.

How to zoom and remove the 2x off the screen

Using the remote control, locate the ZOOM button below number 7.
You can press this to zoom in on the picture (2x, 3x, 4x.. After 4x, if ZOOM is pressed again, the picture goes back to Normal)

There is no way to take off "2X" while it's in the 2x zoom

This is a tunerless dvd recorder. You choose the channel from your TV tuner. No it does not have a tuner in the DVR. More info at WWW.toshiba.com/tacp...after long search I discovered that Toshiba has parts distributors that sell the owner manuals. Sucks!

Widescreen

Unfortunately, a cinema screen is even wider than a widescreen TV. Because of this (in order to keep the original aspect ratio), even with a widescreen TV you still end up with the black bars top and bottom.

Check the aspect ratio of the DVD (Should be printed on the back of the case somewhere).

Unless it says 1.85:1 or 16:9 Anamorphic, you will get the black bars. (Many films on DVD are 2.35:1 or even wider!)

Have you got any different picture modes on your TV. I've got a Toshiba and it has something called 'cinema mode' which does eliminate the bars. Unfortunately it does it by zooming in on the picture slightly, so you loose a bit off the side of the picture and the image does get a little grainier.

Hope this helps.

DVD will not eject

some have a pin hole under or next to the tray that you can put a paper clip in to and push it in.
other wise you have to take the cover off and take it out.
