Hello calbj5, Since you didn't provide a make /model computer or printer..all I can provide is general guidelines for you.. Your printer will have a few features in that you will need to determine what fits your system best.. Many newer printers use a USB port to communicate with the computer.. This is a modular type plug ( one end will match the plug on your printer ) and the other end will be plugge dinto any available USB port on the back of your computer, ( older systems used what they call a D-Type cable assembly ) and if tha is what you require, you willl need to get that cable. Like I said.. most newer style printers come with the USB type cable as standard. You will also find the power cord provided with your printer..One ened plugs into the back or side mating plug of the printer and the other to your power receptacle ( hopefully you are using a surge protector set up)
Once you have both cables hooked up and plugged in.. you've probably been provided with a CD that came with your computer as well as instructions for loading the drivers on that CD ( most of the time) you just insert the CD into your CD player and it wil ask a few questions and self load.. Please let me know if this gets you going or youneed clarification.. It's always a good idea to provide brand and model numbers in your questions.. That helps us in helping you.. Good Luck !

I have my Canon MX420 printer hooked up, my computer recognizes it's existence, and the printer prints fine by itself. However, every time I try to print from my computer via wi-fi, my computer says...

If your printer has the network cable plugged into it then your halfway there. Make sure that as well as having a hard line network cable plugged into your router, you need to connect the printer to the wifi signal as well. On your printer, push your settings button, scroll to your wireless lan setup, and connect to your router and if password protected, enter in the password and you should then be connected to you router, now try printing using your laptop or device through your wireless connection, and it should print. Please post back if you need further instructions or help!

I need another cord that plugs from the printer to the computer, what is that cord called? Also, do you know where I can find one? Thanks

You just need a standard USB cable, available at any store that sells computers and printers or printer supplies. If you don't know what you're looking for, just tell them you want to hook up your printer and they'll show you what you need.

I need to hook the printer up to my computer for wireless printer

You need to plug the printer into the computer using a USB cable for first time setup. Once it is setup you can remove the cable.

Hello,

Go to next support site and select the exact type of All-In-One printer you have:
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_pagetype=s-001&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&cc=us&h_lang=en&h_cc=us&h_query=psc2210

Disconnect the printer.
Install the matching drivers and software.
Do not connect the printer until installation has completed or if during setup you are told to do so.

I just got a printer but i don´t know how to install can you help me

First get the printer ready to hook up but do not hook it up. Second boot up your computer and insert the disc that came with the printer, once the disc is in it will pop up a window, something in the window will say something about setup or install, click on that and follow the step by step installation instructions, at a halfway point through this couple of minute installation, the installation will ask you to hook up the printer, which you should do, and finish the installation, then reboot the computer and you should be ok to take out the disc and finish.
