Dvd/cd does not read disks it shoes in the device manager of the toshiba A105 s4344 laptop

Sometimes the lazer glass gets dirty and needs cleaning. Some packages of DVDs come with a cleaner that just has a series of brushes that wipe the glass clean.
If you can read the files from explorer, the problem might be with your software. Try accessing it using another program.

Sony mhc-gx450 cd player is not reading.I used a cd cleaner and d

First unplug the unit and press the power button to make sure all the power is out of the unit. Try to take a cotton qtip and clean the lazer lense with alcohol. after wipe it clean with a new cotton qtip to remove the film the alcohol produces. Do not use a lot of alcohol and drip it all inside of the unit though.
Also if you tried a cd-r try a real copy instead. Make sure your cd's are ok.
Good luck.

Teac mcd78 cds spin but do not always play

The lazer unit in this stereo is hard to get at, 2 circuit boards have to be removed to access lazer lens to clean it. Do not attemt unless you feel up to the task.

When you get to lazer lens, spray a bit of window cleaning liquid on a cotton bud and flick off the excess. then gently wipe the cotton bud over the lens. next use the clean end of the bud and gently polish the lens.

This may solve your problem. If not, there is a "cheat" you can try to overcome this issue... on the side of the lazer assembly there is a pot for adjusting the lazer power. Carefully nudge the pot anticlockwise a tiny bit. This will increase power to the lazer to help overcome the problem. **NOTE: do not adjust the pot too much or you may damage the lazer beyond repair**

CD player won't play after pressing the play button on all tracks

This problem is usually caused by dust or smog accumulating on the laser lens assembly. Unplug the unit and remove the top cover. Take a cotton swab and wet one end with glass cleaner. Wipe it gently across the lens (do not apply pressure). Use the other end of the swab to dry the lens. Reassemble the unit and test for skipping or non-playing discs.

CD player can't find the disc.

Hey man, I had the exact same problem with mine. What you do is take off the top cover which has 2 screws on top and 3 on back side of top. You'll see where the two parts come together to grab cd and spin it. Well, you should also see a little "eye" lens that actually reads the disc. Clean this off with windex or some time of cleaner. Bam, It works.

CD's skip

Try using a cleaning disk to clean the lens on the lazer. If that doesn't work, then it may be you have a weak lazer and in that case it's time to replace the lazer assembly (a trip to the shop). Good luck.

Stereo won't read cds

You might try running a cleaning CD in it (which cleans the lazer lens). These are available from Wal Mart and many other sources. If a cleaning doesn't get it going, then you may have a lazer that is weakening and might need to be replaced (sorry!). Hope just a good lens cleaning will do the trick.
