Hi,
do you installing both cartridges (black and colour)?
if you do so, my advice is to reinstall the driver for your printer.

if you install ONLY the black cartridge, and the color cartridge remain the old one, (which in my opinion is the present case), your problem is from the color cartridge.
The color cartridge have 3 colors and this are: cyan (some kind of blue), yellow and magenta (similar with a pink color, but more intense). The problem is simple: in your color cartridge has left only the magenta color, cyan and yellow tanks are empty.

have 2 options:
1. buy a new color cartridge
2. refill the color cartridge.

I have installed new printer cartridge (Colour) and it is only printing blue. Cartridge is identical to the old one which printed OK.

I found this procedure hard to believe, but my 710C was printing black and pink only. Someone suggested taking the color cartridge and soaking the tip in hot water! I microwaved some water in a cup for 2 minutes, placed the end of the color cartridge in it for 30 minutes. I took it out and blotted with a paper towel until finally all three colors bled out. I dried throughly and put back in printer.... it works great. I might also add I had 2 new cartridges that this happened to.

Testing color ink cartridge

Remove the print cartridge and press the head of cartridge on the tissue paper firmly.if the cartridge is okay it should shows three colors on the tissue.that are cyan(blue), yellow and magenta(pink).if you see any color missing that means the particular color is empty or dried up.get the cartridge refilled or replaced if necessary.

This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Colors are not printing correctly. put in a new cartridge, test page came back with only black, yellow, and blue. fiddled around with it a bit to no avail. put in anther new cartridge, test page came...

I use a small diameter silicone tube to carefully "prime" stubborn new carts by sucking a drop of ink out of the tiny print holes in the printhead part of the cart. Ink can dry at the head and since these carts work by electrical excitation, there needs to be liquid of each color at the holes. Slap a drop of water with your finger on the holes to start easy hesitant ones. Do not get the contacts wet.

Red will only print on test page.

So what you need to do is clean the cartridge from the printer toolbox..do all the three steps cleaning..(clean cartridge, prime cleaning, intermediate cleaning)..
once the cleaning is done..try to make a copy..if its still the same..change both the ink cartridge and then try to make a copy..if it resolves the issue then cartridge is defective..if it does not resolve the issue then printer is defective..

simple.the ink in the colour cartridge is over.usually pink and yellow mix to form red any of the 1 colour is over.just get your cartridge refilled or buy a new cartridge.the printer is absolutely perfect.
thanks.

Color Printing Problem

If a document displays in color on the screen but prints in black and white, try the following solutions. Print a test page to determine if the color cartridge is working
  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. If you have an HP Deskjet 710c, 712c, 720c, 722c, or 820c series printer, follow the instructions below:
    1. Turn the printer on.
    2. Press and hold down the Power button while pressing the Resume button four times.
    3. Release the Power button.
  3. If you have any other HP Deskjet printers, click here for instructions on how to print an internal test .
  4. If the printout is black and white, with no color, follow the instructions below:
    1. Open the top cover of the printer and remove the cartridges.
    2. Verify that the correct cartridges are installed in the printer. Click here to see if you have the correct cartridges . If the correct cartridges are installed, make sure that the tape has been removed from the cartridge nozzles.
    3. Insert the cartridges firmly back in their cradles and close the latches.
    4. Close the printer door.
Verify the correct printer is selected as the default printer
  1. In the software application that you are using to print, click File .
  2. Click Print .
  3. In the Print dialog box, verify that the name of the HP printer you are using is listed in the Name box.
  4. If the printer is not listed in the Name box, click the arrowhead to the right of the box.
  5. Click the name of the HP printer.
  6. Click OK .
Check that the printer settings are correct
  1. Close the software application that you are using to print.
  2. Click Start , click Settings , and then click Printers .
  3. Right-click the icon (picture) for the HP printer.
  4. In the menu that displays, use the left mouse button to click Properties .
  5. In the Properties dialog box, click the Details tab. (In Windows 2000, click the Advanced tab.)
  6. Check that the driver listed under Print using the following driver or Printer matches the HP printer you are using. The following setting may be in one of several places, depending on your printer driver and operating system.
  7. In the Details tab, click Setup . Under Printout, select one of the color options. (If other options have check marks, click in the check boxes to remove the check marks.) If there is no Setup button, click the Graphics tab, and then click Color . Under Color Control, choose a color option, and click OK . If there is no Graphics tab, click the Advanced tab and look for the text Print in Grayscale . If there is a check mark in the box by Print in Grayscale, click in the box to remove the check mark, and click OK . If you are using Windows 2000, in the Advanced tab, click Printing Defaults . Click the Advanced tab. The box by Print in Grayscale should not be checked.
  8. Click OK .
  9. Close the Printers window.
  10. Open the software application that you were using to print.
  11. Try printing again.
Install a new driver If none of the above options worked, the wrong driver might be installed on the computer. For the most current HP printer drivers, go to the HP Web site.
