DVD player will accept disc and attempt to load menu but freezes on a black screen. Lens and rails are clean, laser is visible and all controls appear to function, but video output nonexistent.

- Mine is doing the same thing. Plays Cd's with no problems but will now play no DVD's of any format at all. Goes to menu then title and just sits there. I realize the unit is old but would rather hang on to it. It has outlasted 4 other players.If it is the RAM how hard is it to replace and where can I get it? Pioneer?
