Sharp GA219SA doesn't work

Most Sharp universal remotes came with a specific device (TV, DVD player, etc.). The directions for programming the remote will be in the manual for that device. The Sharp GA317SA came with several TV models. The GA317SA is the same as the GA219SA that comes with the 27F640, except for the light feature. 1) replace new batteries with the same tipe alkaline
2) see the polarities are wrong
3) clean the contacts batteries with c. cleaner
4) retight the spring contacts batteries with l plier for better contacts
5)open the r. control clean the keypads from dirty, corrosion, oxide and bad contacts.
6) reset the code
7) try again, if the problem persist go to the repair shop TV for fix it.

The infrared (IR) LED / remote may have stopped working. Since it emits IR light when used, you won't be able to actually see the light with the ***** eye. This makes it difficult, but not impossible to determine if the LED / remote is working or not. You can see if it works by pointing it a night time security camera - the type that has it's own built in IR LEDs to light up the area and does not need visible light to shine on the area (some video cameras can also "see" this light when playing back video taken of an active IR light source). Either record or have someone watch the display while pressing a button on the remote and aiming at the camera. You should be able to do this in broad daylight it will look like a flashlight shining into the camera.

If the LED in the remote is proved to be functioning, the IR receiver in the switch, or some other internal part of the switch may have failed. Since the receiver doesn't light up - there's no way to determine if this is the case without actually replacing the switch. It doesn't matter really, as there are no user replaceable parts in the switch - it either works, or it doesn't.

Ultimately, the best way to troubleshoot will be by replacing components with known good types. Use a battery that tests "good" on a tester, in a new or known to be good remote, used on a new or known to be good switch. You'd would deal with the situation by swapping only ONE component at a time. Once you change the device that allows to circuit to work, replace the new components with the old - except to last one; as this was likely the component that caused the failure.

Try taking the remote to a Home Depot, Lowe's or other similar store with a display of these switches. Do what you need to do to your remote to see if you can control any of the switches/ lights.

You got to sync the remote with your console to activate the remote

Check if the remote is truly to blame - go in a dark room with your phone, turn on its camera, pint the remote at it and push a button - the screen should light up. If it doesn't then the remote is not working. take out the old batteries, clean the contacts with a sharp object then put new ones. If it's the same then the remote is defective. Since a remote can't be repaired all you can do is to buy a new one.

This is how to complete a remote reset for a Sharp television:

Turn off the television if it is on. Unplug the television. Please leave it unplugged. Take the batteries out of the remote control. Leave the batteries out of the remote control. Is the television still unplugged? Yes? Good leave it that way. Are the batteries still out of the remote? Yes? Good leave them that way. Point the remote at the television's remote sensor. Hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Release it. Press and release each button on the remote control. Plug the television back in. Turn it on with the power button on the television itself. Replace the batteries. Try adjusting the volume. Hopefully the remote works. If it still doesn't work the remote sensor on the television could have gone out or you may need a new remote. http://www.sharpusa.com may have a remote you can order or http://www.replacementremotes.com but if that isn't the problem you may or may not be able to return the remote.

Is it that your "Enter" key won't depress or it doesn't respond?

I had the same issue with my Sharp Aquos 52 inch LCD TV. I called Sharp. The tech had me unplug my TV, take the batteries out of the remote (TV remote not cable) and press all buttons on the remote (including the buttons under the flip top at the bottom of the remote). I did this, put the batteries back in and plugged in the tv and everything worked. I had gone 4 months having to use the surround sound for volume and turning the TV on and off by hand. This took 2 minutes to fix.

okay this is what you gotta do unscrew the back of your PDA and you will see your two batteries and some stickers, in between the batteries there is a rectangle. take your screw driver and push the little bars inside the rectangle back. this will unlock your screen. if it still doesn't work hold the on button and press reset this will delete everything but also turn it on. if it still doesn't work throw PDA at wall, save up money, and get an IPad.
