TV won't tune above channel 12?

Hi there,
I have been using this television for 2-3 years with no problem until suddenly it will not tune channels above #12. It is connected to my cable through a CAT5 connection. When I use the remote to scan for a station, it actually stops on the channel number just above the one desired. For example, when trying to tune to Ch 55, it flashes the image at 55, but stops on 56, which does not have the image (just noise.) I tried to connect this to two other cables in my home and get the same result. Also tried the connection in the family room set, which tunes just fine and same thing. Any ideas?

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

Hi...juz wanna know wat wud be d possible solution for this tv problem. It lacks some channels and didnt respond correctly to the channel and its station. In other words besides that it lacks some channels...

HI. I guess you mix the expression channel with number. The "channel" is the division in "places" for each transmitter in the entire TV frequency spectrum. The "number" is just the preset number one gives to a certain channel stored in the TV. F.i. on can use number 50 to channel 4, which it the last channel in the lower VHF band.
When you to to "manual" tuning, and you select "4", then you may receive this channel, and assign it to any number you choose between 0 and the max presets possible. (mosly 99). After storing, you can choose another "channel ". It is also possible to choose in H or S. H are the regular B1, BIII, UHF channels. (rsp. 2-12, 21-69). The S band contains frequencies in between and above these bands.
Hope this explanation is of any help to you.

Press “VOLUME” keys to tune up or down (shown on blue bar)
When required programme is tuned, input required Channel number (appears on 2 green lines at top) e.g. 02 or 14

Channels should now be tuned to allocated numbers

My 96 year old Mother-in-law has a Sears (SR) Model 580 television. We cannot figure out how to get it to Channel 3 so as to hook up a new Federally Sponsored reception box. There is a panel for...

Those adjustments were marked with letters so you could set ant position to any channel, and the channel know was marked A-L as well. The set came with labels you could put into the knob with the numbers.

Associated with each of those adjustment screws should be a small switch, labeled (if I remember correctly...I was a Sears TV tech over 10 years ago and haven't seen one of these sets since then!) VL, VH and UHF. VL is for channels 2-6, VH 7-13 and UHF 14 up. There might also be a little indicator window showing how far up the band you've gone. There may also be a switch marked AFT on/off. If you have that, turn it off to set the tuning and turn it back on when you're done. Put the switch on VL and turn the adjustment until you're tuned to channel 3. You'll know when since you'll see the programming.

I hope I haven't been totally off base. Like I said it's been a while. If this has helped, please feel free to give this solution a good rating. (If not, please feel free to pretend this never happened!)

I can't program channels above 13

Check your TV settings and be sure to set the tuning mode to cable (sometimes it says CATV). You will find it's set to "air" now. When set for off-the-air tuning, cable channels 2 through 13 work fine, but above that you get nothing. After you set your tuning mode to cable, rescan channels and ou should have everything.

TRutech 15" LCD does not pick up all channels

Check your TV settings and make sure your tuning is set for cable (may say "cable" or "CATV"). Right now you'll probably find it set for "air". If the TV is set to tune off-the-air, cable channels 2 through 13 work normally, but above that they aren't detected. Once you set the tuning mode to cable, rescan channels and you should have them all.

Technika tv lcd 19-907 tuning in to sky in bedroom.

Hi i had the same problem but i have sorted mine now. What i was doing wrong was i wasnt tuning in the analoge channels only the freeview digital ones. To do this you need to first turn your tv on. Then press the "source" button, this will bring up a little menu at the top left hand side. When this menu comes up press the "Programme +" button (the one that you use for changing channels near the volume button) press this until you get up to "TV", when T.V is highlighted just wait 3 secs and it will switch over. You will probably get a blue screen with a no signal message (you are now on analogue) when you get this blue screen press the "tune" button. It will automatically start tuning in all of your channels, at first they will be fuzzy but as it works they will become clearer. Your sky channel will also be tuned in. When mine tuned in it didnt tune them in on the right numbers though, bbc2 was on number 1 etc. If you ever need to use a playstation or something it goes into the scart connection at the side of the t.v and you need to press "source" and go up to "scart". To get back onto the digital channels just press "dtv/dvd".
hope i helped!

No uhf with antannae

UHF channels are basically "line of sight" type signals. You need to be pretty near those UHF stations.
You need a Uhf or combination Uhf/ Vhf antenna to receive them - - Usually an out-door type.
Your TV needs to be set in the "antenna" mode to tune beyond channel 13 "air type" channels. Channel 14 is the first UHF channel if you're in the antenna mode. If you're in the "Cable" mode then channel 14 is a cable channel which is operating at a different frequency from UHF.
I hope this will help you!

Tuning in the tv

Most TV's auto search feature will try both the Cable and the Air frequencies, but perhaps yours doesn't. Go to the menu page for tuner setup and make sure it is set on Air (might be called broadcast) and then run the channel search.
Cable channels and Broadcast channels (above channel 12) are not the same frequencies.
Hope Ya Fix It!
