Same thing. The receiver blinks for about 15 seconds when I press the button. Then when I press the button on the mouse, nothing happens. The mouse is on (red light is on), so I don't know what's wrong.

Hi. the touchpad on my Dell Latitude D620 has somehow been disabled or jus quit working..idk which. so am trying to install a ge wireless optical mouse HO97985......WK2004 with usb receiver.how do i get...

If it was disabled try this. push the FN or function key, found near the lower left of the keyboard. Hold that down and then push the F10 or F12 key. Should be F10 on that model. That should turn it back on. The pads are pretty reliable and I've actually only ever seen one die in about 15 years.

If you are stuck installing then plug the mouse in and boot. It should actually find the mouse as new software and install a default driver. You may have to reboot it once after before it works. To work without a mouse you use the tab and spacebar. Tab mose from one box to another and space acts like a mouse click. Alt tab moves from one program to another. And to close use alt -F4 and to shut down use alt-f4. You shouldn;t need to do that if you boot with the mouse in the usb so it finds it.

I have a GE wireless optical mouse that has decided no to work

I had the same problem till I discovered there are two buttons (not just one) you have to push to re-link the mouse and the USB receiver. Plug the little receiver in, push the tiny "connect" circle on the receiver (which is actually a button I guess), then wait for the red light to start blinking. Then press the little link button on the bottom of the mouse.

Where is the link button on the actual mouse device? The USB is being recognized, but the mouse isn't working.

Where does the batteries go on my ge optical wireless mouse?

On the bottom of the mouse there is a snap-off battery cover. The batteries go in the holder below this
cover. Take care to install batteries with the correct polarity. Push in from the indent with a thumbnail
toward the slot in the cover and pull the cover up. Do not use a tool as the tab that holds the cover closed is easy to break. Do not pry up on the cover from the cover slot either. After batteries are changed the mouse and receiver will likely need to be relinked.

To link the mouse and receiver, turn on the on/off switch on mouse bottom. Plug in the usb to pc.
Boot pc. Hold down the link button on the bottom of the receiver until the led blinks. Release.
Quickly push in the link button on the bottom of the mouse. When the receiver led flickers, the
mouse is linked. The receiver led will flicker when the mouse is used.

Press the link button on the receiver the indicator light should start blinking. Then within two seconds press the link button on the bottom of the mouse, the indicator light should quit blinking. After re-linking the devices move the mouse to see if it moves the cursor. If the cursor does not move, then move the mouse and see if the indicator light on the receiver blinks. If the device does not blink then try re-linking the devices again.
