Could be a tripped limit due to excessive lint buildup inside or it might be a broken belt due to bad roller or old belt. Lots of videos on youtube on how to get inside a maytag dryer. I recently worked on a slopefront model Neptune that was in a house fire. Did a quick video:

a vent hose that is full of lint or clogged/restricted will cause the dry to take longer to dry or leave the clothes damp. if you clean/get the hose unrestricted this should rectify the problem. Hope this helped tim

Is there supposed to be a hole on the side of my dryer

Well, though it be simple, you might clean the lint filter everytime you use it. Over time a dryer even with lint filter cleaned will still collect small amounts of lint inside it. You shouldn't worry much but you could call the maytag man to come and take apart the dryer and clean the inside. <;O)

With a name like Sexydiva69 I'd overheat too! Sounds like your exhaust hose might be clogged. Take it off and make sure you don't have excessive lint buildup anywhere in exhaust system.

Check the lint tubing and also for lint underneath the dryer. There is a blockage somewhere for this to happen. This is a built in safety feature for gas dryers that others don't have.
